Evans-Cisse spitting row: FA to launch investigation

The FA are considering to launch an investigation into the alleged spitting incident between Jonny Evans and Papiss Cisse in Manchester United’s 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

The disciplinary boards are waiting for match referee Anthony Taylor’s report and will review the footage from Wednesday night’s game, according to ESPN

Evans and Cisse got into a nasty confrontation, after the United’s challenge on the Newcastle striker, with television replays suggesting both the players spat at each other.

Should both the players found guilty, they could get a six-game ban in FA decided to take action over the incident.

Newcastle United’s head coach John Carver admitted that although he had not seen the incident but couldn’t believe Evans spitting at others.

Should he face the ban if found guilty, it would be a massive blow for United, as the defender would miss several key fixtures including FA Cup tie with Manchester United, and Premier League clashes with top four rivals Tottenham and Liverpool.
