Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal is considering a £36m move for Valencia left back, Jose Luis Gaya.

After an unfortunate injury to England international, Luke Shaw, Van Gaal has been forced to consider dipping into the market for a left back.

Manchester United do not have a specialist left back as a back to Shaw and are forced to use the likes of Blind and Rojo as full backs.

Unhappy with his options so far, Van Gaal has identified the highly rated Jose Luis Gaya as a perfect replacment for Luke Shaw.

The former Southampton man is out for a few months with a broken leg and will take a long time to get back to his peak form.

Unwilling to risk the season, Van Gaal wants to sign an able replacement this January.

Gaya is regarded as one of the finest young full backs in Europe at the moment, and the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid are interested in the Valencia youngster as well.

Linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer, Gaya extended his contract with Valencia and has a £36m release clause.

It is believed that Van Gaal is willing to sanction the transfer for the highly talented young defender, who is destined to be world class with time.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Shaw if Manchester United go through with the transfer. Has Van Gaal lost his faith in Luke Shaw’s ability to recover properly? time will tell.
