Manchester United have lodged a formal bid for Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez, according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo

Pedro, who scored the winning goal for Barcelona against Sevilla on Tuesday night in the UEFA Super Cup, is very clear in his mind – he wants to leave. He wants to move abroad where he would get regular first team opportunities. At the same time, he holds a strong emotional bond with the club and the fans love him dearly.

Barcelona want him to stay but the club would consider selling him, if the offer is right, which is around €30m. Mundo claim that Barcelona have received a formal offer from Manchester United. The Red Devils have offered €25m upfront along €5m on bonuses for Pedro. There is also a €30m offer on table from Manchester City, although it is only a verbal proposal.

Mundo claim that Chelsea are also interested in signing him, although Jose Mourinho has clearly mentioned that the Blues do not want the Spanish forward.

Manchester United are still favourites to sign Pedro, because the forward has given his verbal commitment to the Red Devils. The only way City can sign him is by offering a ridiculous sum of money to turn his head around.

To be fair, here money is not an issue for Pedro, but getting regular opportunity is. Will he get regular games under his belt at City? Probably not.
