Manchester United’s ageing left back Patrice Evra might consider a return to Italy if he departs Manchester United this summer, claims talksport.

The 32-year-old will be out of contract at old Trafford this summer and according to his agent, Evra might like return to Italy, with the Frenchman having spent time in Italian Football with Marsala and Monza early in his career.

Federico Pastorello, Evra’s representative, claims that his client would be willing to listen if substantial offers do materialise in the summer.

Pastorello told Italian radio station ‘TeleRadioStereo’ (relayed by the Daily Mirror):

“Inter and Roma? Speaking with him, I have understood that technically Serie A is a possibility. He is very attached to Manchester United even if recently things have changed a bit. But Evra still has not taken a final decision.”

Evra joined United in 2006 from AS Monaco, and since then made the left back slot his own with comprehensive displays in front of the vociferous Old Trafford faithful.

However, with United having a dismal season after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, under fire manager David Moyes is set to be handed a whopping £200m transfer kitty as the Scot plans of a sweeping overhaul of his squad.

With Nemanja Vidic already agreeing to join Inter Milan in the summer, it remains to be seen whether Evra will be part of the mass exodus at Old Trafford in the summer.

Rio Ferdinand’s future too seems uncertain, and the same can be said about midfielder Darren Fletcher.
