Manchester United are considering a January move for Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder, according to reports from The Guardian.

Sneijder is a long term target of Manchester United and as per the report; David Moyes is seriously considering a move for the Dutch playmaker.

United are struggling badly in the league, lying 9th in the table, 13 points behind leaders Arsenal and there is a need to bolster the midfield in the winter transfer window.

Moyes has reiterated again that he won’t make any panic buy in January but buying Sneijder would only galvanize the spirit of the club but it would serve a statement of intent to the other rival clubs as well.

The 29-year-old came close to joining United couple of seasons ago but the deal fell through due to contractual issues.

The Dutchman has a reported releasue clause of around £13m while he recently parted with his agent, Soren Lerby, which gives the sense he might be considering his future. He is contracted to the Turkish club until 2016, where he earns a reported salary of €5m (£4.2m) a year.
