Manchester United should to everything to sign Brazilian defender

Dani Alves

Manchester United are evidently in the market for a right back. The Red Devils are keen to upgrade on makeshift right back Antonio Valencia this summer and Barcelona full back Dani Alves is a priority.

The Brazilian is out of contract this summer and is yet to sign an extension at the Camp Nou. If Barcelona win the treble this season, Alves could very well look forward to a new adventure with Manchester United.

Undoubted quality

Manchester United need a right back and Dani Alves is undoubtedly one of the best in the world. The Brazilian’s robust nature and incredible engine makes him a constant thorn for wide players as well as opposition full backs.

His intricate passing and through balls in behind opposition defence has greatly benefited the likes of Messi and Suarez this season. Occasionally criticised for being out of position (which attacking full back isn’t?), Alves has a lot more than defensive qualities to his game.

The Brazilian can slot in as a makeshift winger and can play in a variety of formations as well.

Person and the player

Furthermore, the reasons to sign Dani Alves extend far beyond the football pitch. If Manchester United were to sign the Brazilian, they would not only get an excellent full back, but a proper role model for all of their young players to look up to.

Alves is not only respected by his teammates, he is respected by the opposition as well. A true gentleman and a great teammate, Alves once offered his liver to Eric Abidal, during his operation.

Best things are free

Dani Alves is worth his weight in gold, especially in a market where clubs are constantly paying over the odds for average talent.

The Brazilian is out of contract and will join Manchester United on a free, leaving them a lot of money to be spent elsewhere.
