Atletico Madrid have become the most romanticised team for the neutrals this season. To be fair to them they deserve widespread adulation. With a budget no where near to European heavy weights, through sheer management, they’ve come along this far and might end the season, winning La Liga title and the Champions League as well.

However, next season could be tough for them, as big European clubs are looking to sign their top players, and Atletico are helpless to resist that. Already, if the reports are to be believed, Chelsea are leading the chase to sign Diego Costa while are also targeting Filipe Luis to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Another player who is targeted by several top clubs in midfielder Koke. The 22-year-old has had a phenomenal season and in Spain he is very highly rated.

During the January transfer window, we reported that Manchester United are eager to land Koke, while back in October I wrote a scouting report on the Spaniard, explaining why he must be the Red Devils’ first priority next summer.

Chelsea were also thought to be interested in him, with the La Liga giants wanting to negotiate a deal involving a permanent move for Courtois.

Spanish newspaper Sport reports today that Barcelona are looking to reshape their midfield next season and are targeting koke to fill that role. The report says, the Catalan club are sure to face competitions from Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich – all are ‘closely following’ the midfielder.

However, there are two major problems. First, Koke has said time and again that he is happy in Spain and is not looking for a move now. Secondly, he has a staggering €60m release clause.

Both United and Chelsea will be looking to make reinforcements in summer and it remains to be seen, whether they show any kind of interest in Koke or not.
