Manchester United agree terms with Eric Bailly, medical passed

Eric Bailly

Villarreal defender Eric Bailly is one step closer to becoming a Manchester United player after the young centre back passed his medical.

Bailly has also agreed personal terms with the Old Trafford outfit and could be announced soon.

The 22 year old La Liga centre back will cost Manchester United in the region of 30 million pounds and is expected to be Mourinho’s first signing since taking over from Louis Van Gaal.

Bailly had an outstanding season with Villarreal last year and was one of the best defenders in the league. Although the likes of Barcelona are interested in the player, Manchester United have moved swiftly to fend off the competition and secure his services.

Bailly joined Villarreal in 2015 for a fee of 5 million pounds.

The Ivorian has all the qualities to succeed in the Premier League. He is strong, tall, quick and agile. He is also very comfortable when playing out of the back. The Villarreal star’s composure when in possession attracted the likes of Barcelona towards him.

Despite the rumoured fee, he has the ability to justify it just like Anthony Martial. Furthermore, under the tutelage of an outstanding coach like Mourinho, he could easily fulfill his potential and develop into a world class defender.
