Manchester United 6-0 Newcastle United – Goal Videos

Manchester United beat Newcastle United thanks to 6 goals in the second half as the visitors repeatedly slammed the self-destruct button and helped the home side regain their position at the top of the Premier League table (OK, so Birmingham helped too).

For Sir Alex Ferguson, this is the perfect time to refocus and get his players together for a barnstorming run to the end of the season. Manchester United have only 2 fit senior strikers (Saha is injured again and out for the rest of the season while Manucho is at the ACN) and there is heavy speculation that United would dip into the transfer market for a short-term loan or a long-term investment – come March, the lack of a 3rd striker could prove crucial to Manchester United’s efforts in the Champions League, if not the domestic competitions.

But having said that, the 2nd-half demolition of Mike Ashley’s manager-less club has set the perfect foundation for United to push on and improve upon last season’s performances.
