We finally have the official pictures (and video) from Manchester United showcasing the new 2007/2008 home kit (available from 1st August and United will start playing in it from the Far East tour end-July).
What can we say about the kit? It’s all red, with the United crest on the right and the Nike swoosh on the left. The AIG logo doesn’t look as bad as last year, except it’s the same of course and it’s just us getting used to it. White shorts and black socks which is fair although I wonder how it would have looked with black shorts instead.
There’s a white stripe down the back, as the pics floating around last month showed - IMO that’s the worst thing about the kit, otherwise it’s all good.
The goalkeeper kit is great; they picked the right shade of blue and it contrasts well with the red home shirt. Up close (see the video) the blue is so good I might just get that instead.

i think that the hideous white stripe on the back will be there, look at the “the mission continues” tag line on the white stripe, very identical with the kit that was suggested before..
It looks great. I’m glad the neck and sleeve areas are all red in stead of with white like last season.
Oh and as a side note…Rooney got the number 10, which I think is fitting.

Not bad I guess. Will have to grow on me just like last seasons. Its a shame its such a late release considering most other new Prem kits are available now or within the next few weeks. Save the best till last!

what the hell is going over at nike or whoever designed the kit!?!?! come on give us something a little more creative and dynamic!! it just looks like a red training top with the badge and sponser(which is huge) slapped across it. as much as i love my team and i really love my team i wont be buying this one. stick with last years top or at least hope the away kit which is supposed to released at the end of aug is a lot better.

Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson haven’t actually signed contracts yet. They will do so when pre-season starts.

They are definately bringing out a new kit because I saw a billboard outside a new nike store with Rooney in some total 90 training gear saying “NEW MANCHESTER UNITED KIT OUT IN AUGUST” so they are definately bringing out a new one and this one seems to suit the style nike are using, look at Fulham’s kit

A very nice kit, I must say. It’s simple(almost minimalistic), and that is so now. This is the shirt that was leaked a month ago, so they got it right. Anyway, I like it. I like it a lot. Btw, I would give #10 to Anderson (he is a Brazilian playmaker, after all).
the badge should be bigger and the AIG logo should be alot smaller as thats the first thing that you see. oh well no point complaining its released soon will have to see it up close.

the aig being bigger than the crest makes us look cheap.
Firstly tom you chat rubbish: i think this kit is not great but decent enough. Sure the aig box should have gone and the bagde should have had the white crest backing like last year to make it look retro, but apart from that ant it being quite plain(no black or white lines on the front) its quite good. Goalies kit is nicer than last years yelllow and green kits. However the origianl leaked photo and the shot of rooney on the premier league preview show on sky sports, and other leaked photos form last month of this kit in malaysia showed a horrendous white line running down the spine of the shirt. maybe to signal the area for the name and numbers lettering, i dunno but that also had a little black devil on the top of the white line and a thin black line running down the centre of the white. Another thing, i dont get rooney changing to number 10, we’re used to rooney8 and i think it suits him with one digit. anderson should have got it and hargreaves 17, nani 12. leaving #25 for our new striker. anyway its a decent kit from the front, without lettering on the back though, the white line makes it horrible.
Why should Nani get #12? It’s usually given to the second choice keeper, and Foster has no number, so he would be the logical choice. Numbers should be given according to tradition, not like Chelsea and Arsenal who gave #9 and #10 to defenders (Boulahrouz, Gallas). It’s ludicrous.
I guess in some time it’ll grow on me, but for now I don’t like it coz it’s too plain, no way would I pay full price for it really.

My fear of Uncle Malcolm fleecing fans is still ever present and growing stronger by the day, but thankfully the new home kit launched 1/7/07 will return to the usual TWO season lifespan. I firmly believed the marketing department would push for keeping season long kits, despite saying the 06/07 design would just be a ‘one-off’ commemorative shirt. After all, a shirt a season is more money going towards the loan borrowed against United’s assets. The confirmation of the 2007/2009 Home Kit is on the official store.manutd.com website. Phew!

Ahmed the number 8 shirt previously worn by Rooney is going to be worn by Hargreaves now. I dont know what Anderson or Nani have yet thou, but they confirmed this when Rooney was given the number 10.

this must have been taken maybe a few months back. some of the players that have been released are there and those that were on loan like evans and pique aren’t there too
the new home kit rocks. rooney10 rocks. i like the simplistic design. i feel that adidas are in fact the kit manufacturers that are running out of ideas. their jersey designs look convoluted and cheap. the white strip at the back of man utd’s jersey looks classy and unique. i guess that is nike’s intention.

thats the most beautiful new kit of all the teams, the white stripe at the back is amazing
glad to see that we ain’t getting bog standard generic nike kits like we have done so in the previous few seasons (last seasons home kit exempted) the blue away one the red home kit for the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 kits were generic and many clubs around the club had the same design with the only difference being the colors the badge and sponsor logo.
everyone remember the shirts that umbro used to come out for united in the 90’s? the 95/96 had a hologram of the stadia
then there was a blue and white striped one which had the names of different players who had plaid and were playing for united
then the lace one.
the treble winning kits were nice as well and they seemed different from other umbro sponsored team kits.
I was looking at pre-ordering this shirt and I realized that when you go to buy it it doesn’t have an option for the Premier League badges for the sleeves, does anyone know when it will become available?

The white stripe is definitely on there on the back, sum think its awful, sum think its nice, initially i thought it was awful, but i sed that about last years kit in the beginning also, this may also be a kit that will grow on you. The 17 is obviously photoshopped in,His top in the pic
shows the number 3 under his left shoulder (stage right). The 3 is definitly authentic, but I havent seen his number before. Beside on the official website it has not stated his kit number…….why would you lie.

The 3 is his training number. Most of the team have different training numbers to their real numbers, not sure why but they just do.
tts, Boulahrouz got #9 because it was the only free number at Chelsea at the time but Arsene Wenger is not stupid and on the Arsenal website it says that he was given #10 and not #3 (which was free at the time) because he didn’t want a striker to take it because and the reason was that the only striker that could take it would have been Bendtner, if he had not gone on loan because he wouldn’t have handled all the criticsm and comparisons to Bergkamp. No, not true, there were vacant numbers in both Arsenal and Chelsea. Boulahrouz could have gotten any of the following numbers: 2, 15, 17, 22, 25, and any number above 26, while Arsenal had #3 vacant as you said, but also 12, 18, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 30. So, you see, there were plenty of numbers available at the time. Some of those are today filled with new players, but they were vacant last summer. And Chelsea now gave #9 to a midfielder(Sidwell). Why not to, say, Pizzaro? It only goes to show that they are weird.
i think it is really good but i prefer the striped on the goaly top and i cant wait to see the new away kit just put lines down the arms like on the goaly kit it lookes a lot nicer.

Number 19 won’t be going to any of the new signings because that is Chris Eagles number now.
I don’t know if Eagles will be wearing 19 because in the Urawa game, Jonathan Evans was wearing number 2 and that is Gary Neville’s number so probably 19 is just his number for the tour. Also what will happen to Rossi because he is number 19 if Eagles does take it?
I strongly doubt Eagles will be number 19 or will keep that number.

Well I do like the away shirt that Manunited10 found but the one that Luke found looks to be a little bit more authentic, plus if you look at the picture below the shirt Manunited10 found you can see the player in the background is wearing the same shorts that Luke found.
But the kit Luke found looks weird to me because the shirt has red trim and the shorts have white trim (yeah I like clothes and football kits that match together) lol :p

As a Chelsea supporter, I have to say I like last year’s commemorative home shirt much better. There’s something about the all red, lack of white trim on the home shirt that doesn’t look right with white shorts and black socks.

Given that the start of the season is only next week, you would have thought United would have announced who has got what number when they signed the players back on the 1st of July, but as usual they piss our supporters about,
as for the away kits, the black one which keeps cropping up on here is the away shirt as it has red trimmings on the front of the black shirt, with a red stripe down the back, they wore this kit at doncaster in the friendly and as i was there i could see this kit clearly,
im guessing that a 3rd kit will be launched too, many of us will expect it to be a white kit with a black stripe down the back, although usually the 3rd kit has its own features different to the home and away kits soo we just have to keep our eyes peeled and wait for united to stop pissing about and tell us who has what numbers and show what kits we are wearing this season.
Well being a Man Utd fan I luv the kits Umbro have made this season…it has a bit of a classic look to them (as in the diamonds trims on the shirts like they used so many years ago) but added something new to them too ^-^
So big ups to Umbro ^-^

When will the away jerseys and third jerseys go on sale

at long last, the squad numbers are supposed to be into the League by the 28th July, so why couldn’t they give them out then, then just add in the new player/s after?
Well so far Stephen there’s been no word as of yet but I’m sure us United fans will get a release date around when the new season kicks off.
And as for the third, we are all assuming United will have a white kit for the third, and when that will be released maybe a few weeks after the away kit get’s released I wonder.
The Black away kit is released on the 25th of august!!
Edit.. on my last post it has now be delayed due 2 nike not releasing it 2 Store across the UK quick enough.
Now Due on the 13th of September ( if not messed up again!)

Hi all Man Utd fans. I live in South Africa and have promised to buy myself every new kit brought out by United. I need to know where the new black away kit is made..Is it Morocco or Indonesia? I bought kits form the megastore, same sizes,only to get different sizes because they were made in different countries. Pls can someone help. Where is it made?

probs wnt be a 3rd shirt as no Club can colour clash with the black kit and the red 1 at the same time.
only club that can clash with the black is newcastle and we will just wear the red.
Yeah Matty but Clubs in the European champions league like AC Milan can clash with the red & black kits
Maybe they will announce something new after the Black one goes on sale:S I think it will be the blue one from last year and the years before or maybe a white one like the away shirt from last year
