Man City set to beat Manchester United with €35m offer for World Cup star

Could be heading to Barcelona?

Colombian wing back Juan Cuadrado has had a terrific World Cup campaign in Brazil, as a result of which, his market value has inflated to a huge extent. Barcelona are heavily interested in the defender as they want to replace him for Dani Alves. Hence, we find almost every day Catalan newspapers covering a story on Cuadrado.

Earlier in the day, we covered that Cuadrado’s compatriot, James Rodriguez, who has joined Real Madrid in the summer, had been advising him to join Barcelona. Manchester United are also reportedly interested in him while Sport claim today that Premier League champions Manchester City have also joined the race as well.

According to their information, City have tabled up a €35m offer which they feel should be enough to lure the Colombian switching colours this summer. Fiorentina in fact are happy with the offer, especially considering that there’s some City players that could be used in a swap deal like Javi Garcia.

And what about Manchester United? Sport claim that the Red Devils are the least preferred option for the wing-back, since he won’t be play in Europe next season. However, expect a change of tone tomorrow/day after tomorrow/within this week from Sport, if Barcelona come up with a better offer for him.

  1. I believe man utd would get the player but it a hard task considering the fact that man city are in a european competition but man utd are not!!

    • Hope that Cuadrado will join to Manchester UTD to get better midfield and to Hummels come into Man Utd for defense .. They will be magnificent , Vidal , Cuadrado , what team that could be that Di Maria join more ..

    • Man utd are in the European competition but man city arnt is that right im a cricket fan not footbal?????????????????????????????????????

  2. CUADRADO – to LVG: Go all out to battle for this interesting player.MONEY IS THE STRONGEST WEAPON, GO AND USE IT.

According to WOODWARD UTD do not have any MONEY problem, UTD are well financially secured.

Above all CITY were fined and squad capped for FFP(Financial Fair Play)

    • He will be a lot of dosh maybe £7-£9 or maybe even £80000000000 could be even worth the whole world

  3. I think the player should join hull city because they are the best team currently in Europe and even the world. They have the money to buy the player SO BUY HIM HULL £1.50

  4. I just pray man utd gets this player because he has good qualities and always create pace for himself, he will be of good use to man utd and may later find a shirt among the top eleven.

How cud Man City tend to buy the player for the amount of # 35 million when
”MAN CITY WERE FINED #49 MILLION(OF WHICH #32 MILLION SUSPENDED) AND CAN ONLY NAME A 21-MAN Champions League squad next season, aftr failing UEFA financial fair play (FFP RULES).
Consequently City can only spend #49 million on players this Summer as well as any transfer fees they receive.
Moreover for season 2014-15 WageBill must stay the same as this season.

    • City have about 35M left to spend of the 49M cap so yes they can afford the player

Also Lescott plus Barry have just gone off the books so there is 200K a week plus reduction in wages and this guys wages wont be anywhere near as high so wage bill will actually reduce

Finally they will be selling two possibly possibly three players from richards, rodwell, Garcia, Scott and Guidetti simply put the 49 million number and the wage limitations are and never were an issue the biggest problem is the 21 man limitation in the CL. City will spend 32M there or there about on a centre half and there will also likely be another last miinute signing if 3 or more of those players above are sold as is likely

City however wont buy this guy they are trying Mangala

A little knowledge goes a long way might hopefully this is useful to yourself
