yeah...a striker should not be judged basing on no. of goals
he scores though it's his prime duty.Bellamy has been in great touch this season and has been the mainstay of a stuttering Hammers side.....so i don't think he is a
left-over.

@ Rob

i tihnk that degree in journalism is what makes this article printable news. being able to see links that those of us without degrees in journalism cannot see.

man city have piles of cash to wipe their asses with, a some spare change for transfers. that change will be wanted for a someone whos useful to the team. city dont need a striker who can track back. its why man united shouldnt buy tevez. when you have a great backline and midfielders who sit back, why have a striker who can defend?

at west ham, bellamy is useful to rob green because he needs all the bodies in the box he can get, because noone there can tackle!

while i agree that bellamy's two premier league goals this season is not enough to be normally labelled an "in-form striker," i could not disagree more with this journalist's view that Bellamy has "not at all been impressive."

maybe he would like to do some research and watch some games?

bellamy has been in magnificent form for west ham of late...the only thing missing being goals.

yes yes, i know goals are the most important part of a strikers repetoire, but surely this journalist has seen some games...or even read reports or reviews from other sports websites?

he has been playing very well, pretty much carrying the team of late, being involved in every single attack, and doggedly chasing the ball back and closing down the opposition.

the other thing being...Manchester City are in even worse form of late, especially their strikers. what they need is a combative striker that will pull them out of their current mess...something that fits the bill perfectly when Bellamy is mentioned?

as they have so much money, i would assume they'd be after a proper goal-scorer aswell, so why not go for someone that will work his socks off to compliment a new goal machine?

i've got a degree in journalism...and even i can see the link being made with the club and bellamy, so why can't this journalist?
