Manchester City Enjoying Home Comforts In Title Race
Castrol EDGE analysis shows that Manchester City’s strength at the Etihad Stadium has been central to their challenge for the Premier League title.
Roberto Mancini’s side have won each of their last 15 home league games, a home winning streak only bettered once in Premier League history, by none other than their Manchester rivals United.
Interestingly, it was the Citizens who ended the Red Devils’ record-breaking run in that memorable 6-1 victory back in October.
Longest streaks of home wins in the PL
| Date of last win | Team | Games | ||
| 01-Oct-11 | Manchester United | 19 | ||
| 03-Jan-12 | Manchester City* | 15 | ||
| 03-Feb-96 | Newcastle United | 14 | ||
| 26-Nov-05 | Arsenal | 13 | ||
| 11-Apr-94 | Blackburn Rovers | 13 | ||
| 31-Dec-05 | Chelsea | 13 | ||
Fellow title-rivals Tottenham will have to be at their very best if they are to halt City’s success in Manchester on Sunday.

City do have a good home record but they have not always been convincing at home. Liverpool have asked serious questions a couple of times there.

January 20th, 2012 @ 21:24Love it! This has made St. Pauli my German team of cchioe!In the UK, in terms of a strong web presence, I think Man City are doing some really good stuff at the mo – their site is head and shoulders above the rest of the Premiership (and don’t get me started on the generic FLi Championship websites!).
