Done Deal: Liverpool’s first January transfer sealed

Liverpool seem to have got their man way early than expected, as reports in French media suggest, Divock Origi would join the Merseyside club in January.

Origi was signed in the summer for a reported fee of £10m from Lille, but was immediately sent on loan for the rest of the season. While Liverpool have struggled to find the net on a regular basis this season, the hubbubs of bringing Origi back were heard more than once.

The French club have time to time insisted that the player won’t join Liverpool in January, as per the contract, but it seems like the Reds are keen to rip the contract with a €6m fee, as Anfield rings the bell of an emergency tracheotomy.

The claims originate from AFP, equivalent to French Press Association, and a source that is highly trustworthy.

Origi put up an impressive performance during the World Cup with Belgium, and maintained that form early this season as well, but his form has seriously tailed off in recent months, and was welcomed with jeers and boos recently.

While Daniel Strurridge continues to spend vacation in USA as a part of recovery program while Mario Balotelli has mis-fired since his £16m move from AC Milan in summer, will the onerous burden be shifted on the young kid to rescue Liverpool from the mire? More importantly, can he do it? For the sake of stats, he has gone 14 games without scoring.
