Out of favour Liverpool striker Iago Aspas is happy to stay at Liverpool in the summer. Aspas’ agent Jose Baster in an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio staff writer Fabrizio Romano claimed that his agent will not leave the club and is happy with life at Merseyside.

We had earlier reported that the 26 year old was desperate to quit in the summer after failing to nail down a starting eleven spot in Brendan Rogers’ overwhelming side this season. However the Spaniard’s agent has rubbed all speculations linking his agent with a move away from Anfield.

There is no possibility of a return of Iago in Spain. Iago has a four-year contract with Liverpool and is happy to be with the Reds. Yes he would certainly like to play more. But Rodgers is happy and is not thinking about a transfer.

On being asked whether Aspas would consider a move to Italy to test him in new waters, Baster said, “No chance to even see Aspas in Italy, at least as things stand today: “I have never spoken with any Italian club, Iago Aspas in Liverpool is well and happy for the team was a great season. “

The Spaniard was snapped up by Liverpool for £7m after impressing with Celta Vigo in the 2012/13 La Liga season. However, Aspas has just featured 14 times for the Reds this campaign and netted only once for the Reds, his solitary strike coming in the 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup earlier in the season.
