Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers vowed to invest money received from the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona into the squad, and it seems, the Reds manager is on the right track to sculpt the squad to his own taste.

Already the Reds have signed four players this summer but Rodgers is looking to add more bodies, as he understands the need to have necessary depth in the squad in order to fight on both domestic and European fronts.

The Times journalist Tony Barrett claims that Liverpool are closing in on signing three players, Remy, Origi and Lovren, and if all things so smoothly, deals could be clinched within this week only.

French striker Loic Remy will complete his medical in Boston and join the Liverpool squad at the start of the pre-season tour of the United States. Liverpool have agreed a £8m deal with QPR for the France international and certainly his arrival will mark the end of Liverpool’s pursuit of Swansea’s Wilfried Bony.

Belgium striker Divock Origi has already informed Liverpool that he wished to join the Reds in the summer and a provision has been made for him to travel to Boston as well.

Liverpool are paying £9.8m for Origi, who is likely to remain at the French club on loan next season before moving to Anfield in 2015.

Liverpool are also closing in on Southampton’s Dejan Lovren, after reports emerged the Saints are ready to accept the club’s £20 million offer for the defender.
