The January transfer window has closed but there is no stopping of rumours as clubs continue to work behind the scenes at identifying the targets for summer.

Liverpool have failed horribly in the winter transfer window, failing to land any single player. Not that they weren’t active, but they suffered huge blows while chasing the right type of players. They lost Mohamed Salah to Chelsea, while failed to land konoplyanka, despite the fact, they player had undergone medical with Liverpool activating his release clause.

The Reds defender Sebastian Coates is likely to go out on loan to his hometown club Nacional Montevideo. The Uruguayan transfer window closes on Tuesday and Nacional are desperate to land the centre-back on loan.

The 23-year-old joined Liverpool in 2011 but has failed to make any significant impression under Brendan Rodgers. Inconsistency and injuries have played a part too and a result of which he has dropped down the pecking orders at the club.

The Uruguayan suffered a serious keen injury early this season and is slowly making progress in recovering to full fitness.

Coates has started just six games in the Premier League for Liverpool during his two-and-a-half year spell and has bagged one goal to his name.
