This has been the biggest ever summer spending spree in Liverpool’s illustrious history. The club has spent over £100m on signing eight players (Alberto Moreno not official yet, but we know it’s all done) and there could be one or two more additions before the transfer window slum shut.
According to reports from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool have submitted a formal offer to land Argentine goal keeper Sergio Romero.
The Reds have submitted a paltry fee of only €2m and are certain to convince Sampdoria to sell their goal keeper.
Initially it was thought that Liverpool would include Sebastian Coates as a part of the deal, but as it stands, they are ready to pay direct to sign the player.
Romero would provide a solid back-up option for Simon Mignolet and would provide a healthy competition for the goal keeping spot.
