According to reports from French Media outlet Le 10 Sport, Liverpool are already in negotiations to sign Olympique Lyon Alexandre Lacazette. The French striker had a fantastic season having scored 31 goals in 33 appearances helping his side finish second in the Ligue One standings.

Apart from Liverpool, we had reported earlier, Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in the striker. However any team will find it hard to acquire Lacazette’ services as Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas had earlier made it clear that even €50 million will not be enough to buy the 24 year old.

There is no doubt that Liverpool are on the lookout for a new striker in the summer who can effectively lead the line up front. Mario Balotelli has cut a sorry ever since his summer move from AC Milan while Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert too have disappointed. Daniel Sturridge also struggled with injuries this season and will miss the beginning of the coming campaign.

Thus Lacazette would be a terrific addition to the squad but certainly without Champions League Football, the Reds will find it hard to convince the Frenchman to make a move to Anfield.

On his future at Lyon, the striker had recently said, “Right now, I’m at Lyon and contract. If the club needs to transfer me, I will leave. It’s just the reality, if we want to push me out, I’ll have to get out. We must qualify Champions League and then we’ll see for sure that next season I want to play the Champions League.”
