If he can’t keep him at Liverpool, Rafa will only sell Crouch to Everton

On one hand, he’s a good looking chap (when he can keep a straight face) and an ‘effective’ striker (when he can find his bearings, is motivated and doesn’t have to jump).
On the other hand, he’s woefully underused at Liverpool, even though he’s had more than a handful of substitute appearances. As he himself says, he needs to be playing regularly, but the irony is that if he plays for a smaller club (say, Everton) he’s not going to be as noticed as he would be at Liverpool (even if he plays regularly) and if he stays at Liverpool, he won’t get enough chances to stake a claim for an England berth.
All this points to one thing only - that he’s not good enough to be starting for a Big Four club, and he’s probably not good enough to start for England either. Mind you Crouch lovers, I’m saying this based on the ambitions of clubs and country as opposed to any slight on his playing talents.
But Crouch is unlikely to move away from Anfield this summer. We know why Rafa signed him, and I think I know now why Rafa is so keen to keep Peter Crouch at Liverpool:

I mean, come ON! Who wouldn’t try to keep that in town?
So unless Crouch is going to Everton (who, despite my earlier jibe, have been quite consistent in the last few seasons have come closest to upsetting the Big Four hegemony (closer than pretenders Tottenham)), Rafa won’t let him leave Liverpool.
- Liverpool…oh my god, what has Benitez done!
- Peter Crouch - scissor kick goal video (Liverpool 3-2 Galatasaray)
- Can Everton Catch Liverpool?
- How many ‘match winners’ do Liverpool have?
- Liverpool must sell Crouch

Is there a point to this drivel?
How are Tottenham pretenders? If I remember correctly we got closer than anyone else in cracking the Top 4, cuz we were actually in the Top 4 for the 05-06 season for 4 months, and lost it on the last day of the season because of 1/2 the squad getting sick. This article is awful, and to say Spurs are pretenders is just stupid. Cups won this year Spurs 1 Everton 0. Just poor research on your part, we are close, we just had an absolutely dreadful start to the year. Juande Ramos is a fantastic manager and can take Tottenham to the top 4 (DIDN’T SAY HE WILL). Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur.
Hate to break this to you Rob, but Everton actually did finish 4th in 2005. When did Tottenham last accomplish this er…feat?
Oh dear.
Fat chance rob that tottenham will break in to the top 4 anytime soon. keep dreaming!! everybody knows that the team which is going to carry on fighting for the fourth spot is Everton.
I tried to sell him to Everton but they were not interested, apparently they already have a full compliment of goalsposts, and don’t need any floodlight stands?
Rob, when exactly was the last time the Mighty Spurs finished a season in the top 4? By your reasoning Man Citteh are now a top 4 club having spent the first half of the season there…
numpty
Ahmed,
I have just spent a full 40 seconds of my life reading your ‘article’, I may never forgive you
