Liverpool have secured the services of Kolo Toure and Andre Wisdom after two defenders signed new deals on Tuesday.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City man’s future at the Merseyside club was uncertain and has now extended his stay by signing a new deal. The Ivory Coast centre-back had earlier set to sign a one year extension at Anfield.

The Reds have now confirmed they have manage to tie down the defender to a new deal.

“Liverpool FC are pleased to announce Kolo Toure has signed an extension to his contract with the club. The centre-back will remain with the Reds after putting pen to paper on the new deal,” a statement read on Liverpool’s official website.

Meanwhile, Wisdom, who spent last season on-loan at West Bromwich Albion had impressed for the Baggies. His form at The Hawthorns has seen him land a new long-term deal at Liverpool.

“Andre Wisdom has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool, the club are pleased to announce. The 22-year-old has committed his future to the Reds by penning the new deal,” Liverpool confirmed.

Wisdom has made 22 appearances for West Brom in the 2014-15 season. With Glen Johnson hinting that he will leave Liverpool, the 22-year-old could replace the former Portsmouth defender at Liverpool.

These two contract extensions might please Liverpool fans as Toure and Wisdom join Jon Flanagan and Jordan Ibe to sign new contract in recent times.
