Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said in the pre-match presser against Tottenham that he is not expecting new faces to arrive at Anfield, when asked about Liverpool’s transfer plans in the next 48 hours.

Rodgers however admitted that there could be loan moves for few players at the club, as we saw young Jordan Ibe moving to Derby County on a season loan loan.

However, reports in Italy suggest that Liverpool are still looking to complete one more new signing before the transfer window shuts. Having already signed Mario Balotelli from AC Milan, Rodgers is looking to capitalise the Italian market again.

According to reports from GDM, the Reds manager is looking to sign Argentine goal keeper Sergio Romero, who impressed heavily during the World Cup in Brazil.

Rodgers wants to add competition for the goal keeping spot and finds Sampdoria keeper Romero as perfect candidate to provide competition for Simon Mignolet. Di Marzio claim that Liverpool are close to sealing a deal, with English media now reporting that the player’s agent Mino Raiola (same agent of Balotelli) has arrived in England to complete the transfer.

Romero would become tenth major signing of the season for Liverpool, should he join the club within next couple of days.
