According to The Mirror, Arsenal remain locked in a battle with both Liverpool and Everton, as well as Bundesliga sides Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.

Drmic, a versatile forward who can play through the middle or out wide, is a player in demand after his brilliant first season in the Bundesliga. The 21-year-old has caught the eye of top clubs after emerging as Nurnberg’s most important player during his first season in the senior side.

Signed from FC Zurich after scoring a plethora of goals in the Swiss league, Drmic has racked up 16 strikes in 27 Bundesliga games for a team that is currently one place outside the relegation zone. Only Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandzukic has scored more goals than the Swiss striker.

Arsenal, meanwhile, need an out-and-out goalscorer, something that isn’t offered by Olivier Giroud,Yaya Sanogo and Nicklas Bendtner.

And Brendan Rodgers may see the player’s versatility as primary criteria for selection, as the former Swansea boss looking to sculpt the squad according to his own taste.

Drmic will hope to impress his potential suitors when he lines up for Switzerland at this summer’s World Cup.

While nothing is concrete at the moment, but if the reports are to be believed, Arsenal are clearly leading the race to sign him.

Bayern Munich and German legend Lothar Matthäus revealed that the player’s wife has been looking for an apartment in London, while popular journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft gave a strong indication that the player probably will ply his trade at the Emirates next season.
