Liverpool in advance talks to sign €20m world class winger

According to trusted and reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano of the Gianluca Di Marzio website, Liverpool have held talks with Xherdan Shaqiri’s brother over a possible move to Anfield for the Swiss winger.

Romano claims that the Merseyside giants are keen to sign the 22 year old star and they now need an agreement with Bayern Munich to complete a deal. Shaqiri impressed with his dazzling show in Brazil but the Swiss were unfortunate to be knocked out by Argentina in the last sixteen of the showpiece event.

Now that Switzerland are out of the world Cup, the Reds want to quickly wrap up a deal for the Yugoslavian born play maker who will seamlessly fit into Brendan Rodgers’ side at Anfield.

Reliable scout Tor-Kristian Karlsen who also writes for the Guardian tweeted earlier that Shaqiri has a straight choice between a new Bayern contract or joining Liverpool.

Under Pep Guardiola, Shaqiri last season spent most of his time in the sidelines, starting just 14 games and making 13 further appearances from the bench. Despite his limited playing time, the winger scored 7 goals and grabbed 4 assists which shows that if he is given the time to feature, he will make an impression.

Shaqiri, with his immaculate talent would be a terrific signing for Brendan Rodgers who has showed his courage to give young players a chance to dazzle last season at Liverpool, as the Reds narrowly missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City.

    • Simple answer would be YES! Looks a class player who can play in a multitude of attacking positions and in various formations.

We look like we are trying to assemble young, fast, direct running players with good technical ability and scope to grow and improve.

I think if we can get a quality Suarez replacement, Left Back and Centre Back we would have a very good squad to start the season, and still have money left for reinforcements later on if need be.

Also we have some quality players coming back from loan, so it would be good to see them get some opportunities.

    • Suarez will leave very soon. Get a good back up keeper for Mignolet, maybe Vorm. A quality left back, Moreno,Blind or Alderwerield.
Right back cover for John Flanagan maybe Caulker unless Brendan thinks Kelly or Wisdom can cover.
Sign one maybe two central defenders.
Midfield only needs maybe Shaquiri to come in as we have plenty of cover.
Buy Original and get Brendan to turn Sterling into a striker an dust Ibe on a wing and we will motor.
Sell, Aspas, Borini, Agger and Johnson and let’s move next season.

DO NOT Even think of buyin Huntelaar, he is too old and not good enough.

      • We really CL experience, the combination of shaquiri, Sanchez & coutinho with sturridge sterling with spice up the team, no to huntelaar old timer.

      • I like your choice of players but Alderwerield is a centre back converted into a right back not a left back, Caulker couldn’t play right back either. Huntalaar would be cheap as he is into his last year of contract and if you don’t think he is good enough check out his goal ratio throughout his career, would be great back up as I presume we will buy attacking midfielders like Shaqiri or Sanchez to replace Suarez so Sturridge will be up top on his own.

  1. We should sign shaqiri, balloteli, and sanchez then with good 2defenders and dey shoul sale lucas, aspas,

  2. Thank you for this opportunity, shaqiri is inform pray an he have eyes for goal how can we refuse such player in to liverpool team, he has the speed, the strength, an his a good dribblig spirit so just go in there an bring him into the team an see what will next season

  3. brendan rodgers pls get dat swiss wizard 2 anfield, imagin a squard wit lallana, shaqiri, sterling, coutinho, sturridge n suarez as attack, avin rickie comin on,mehn we ar goin dia,4k blues n city we gona crush dem,pls BR sign him up ASAP

  4. I am so tired of brender and the transfer, were is konoplyanka? n why wasting time to get shaqiri? pls stop talking about bertrand not needed at anfieled pls,he should stop buying those english below average player, lallana for 25m. and mancity signed fernando rege for 12m! we need a better strang combative DFM gerrard not good enough there..

    • I completly agree with should stop signing 2nd category playrs like aspas, kolo and many more.instead players of the standard of pogba and kompany in defense and standard of falcao or aguero in attack.even if we buy 3 good players each year but of that quality.i know its difficult but im sure that with the money spent on lallana we could grab a better player with the same amount on the continent

    • Why sell Suarez because of his misdemenours, and buy Balotelli. Doesn’t make sense.

  5. Get rid of susrez asap if he is going. Get this shaqiri signing sorted and them look at shoring up the defence as the next move.
Can’t see Rodgers goimh for the dutch OAP, he has already brought in his alternative option with lambert.

Would like to see the love bird from Southampton in defence along with another 2 defenders.

Get rid of asprin, alberto, and anyone else who isn’t cutting the mustard.

  6. Yeah, Shaqiri would be great for us. BUT have you seen the videos of Juan Iturbe on youtube? (They’re not the be all and end all. But they do give you an idea of the skills and goals scored) If we don’t get Shaqiri, then I reckon we should go with Iturbe, after all, we were linked to him only a few weeks ago.. He’s even younger than Shaqiri is. You should see some of his goals! Check out the “Iturbe skills” video on Youtube by Scout Nation HD..

  7. Pity Sanches doesn’t like us! He would have been a good player for us in a make weight deal that takes the biter the other way. But 80 is a good number and we can continue to scout. No panic buying please!!!! Two good world class players at a time will be good enough even if they are expensive!

  8. Just close your eyes Brendan and bid a good figure they can’t refuse for James Rodriguez! Now that’s good potential.
