David O`leary has been let off the hook incredibly easy when pointing the blame for the Leeds mess.

Somewhere down the line O`Leary started to do some very strange signings
I wish some journalists would dig deeper into the deals of Seth Johnson and Robbie Fowler. What was the prime motivation behind those transfers?

Was it done in the best interest of the of the club? Or did big money transfer deals generate handsome payouts for several parties involved?

Why is it that your hatred for leeds united has to be splurged all over this website? You know as well as everyone else that Leeds made the premiership interesting. You talk about little irrelevant songs that happened in the past! Everyone takes the mickey out of everyone, its just human nature and everyting comes back around. And i don’t think we’ll be playing conference football in years to come EPL! because you are a halfwit.

Leeds didn’t win any silverware in the 90′s PREMIERSHIP, they did win the old division one but i was pointing to the prem.

iqnadirshah: My comment was in relation to your assertion that in the late 90′s and early ’00s (or at anytime for that matter) the PL was contested by 6 or 7 teams with a realistic chance of winning it.

Cantona was early 90′s and, yes, Leeds of course were ‘well known’, notorious in fact! None of this has any relevance to my point!

And as I said about O’Leary, it was the money that made him look good.

Try and address what is actually said!

A manager’s success is determined by the number of trophies he won. As a manger how many medals has O’Leary won at any given club he had managed? With the money given to him at Leeds he didnt even manage to win the league cup. He couldnt even meet the minimum requirements of qualifying for the champions league on a regular basis.
Sir Fergie lost Ruud, Wenger lost Henry, Benitez lost Owen but theses managers didnt let their club go on a downard spiral, Being a good manager you got to deal with it and move on.
Just because Rio was sold against his wishes doesnt vindicate O’Leary and Rio was just a defender for God’s sake.
At Villa Martin o ‘Neil didnt make much changes to O’ Leary’s side and their perfomance improved drastically after playing like crap under O’Leary.
All these are not hearsay. Its statics which can be found at any decent football website.Im not saying O’Leary is crap. Im just saying he is not that good you make him out to be.

BD, I suppose you know which team Eric Cantona played for before Man U. SAF bought him from Leeds United, who won the League title before Man U. So they were a well known team. As for your comments on O’Leary, Leeds never finished outside the top 6 under him. You can say he inherited a well polished team from George Graham, but he took them further. Ferdinand was sold against his wishes and the team started its downward spiral right there. “He was rubbish at Villa”. I think you should blame Doug Ellis (the former chairman) for that. Anyway he was a massive improvement on Graham Taylor…………….

You can’t be serious? O’Leary lived (briefly) off the money that eventaully brought Leeds down. He was rubbish at Villa and hasn’t got the smarts to be a decent manager. To confuse his departure with the financial mess that brought Leeds down is ridiculous.

To quote O’Leary: “As I say, at the end of the day, I’d a likin te stay.”

He was an embarassment!
