Lazio rejected Manchester United bid for Felipe Anderson

Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this season and according to reports in Italy, Lazio turned down a bid for the player in the summer.

Earlier TuttoMercatoWeb reported that Manchester United are preparing a €50m offer for Felipe Anderson.

Now the Lazio director Igli Tare has confirmed that United have not made any official offers for the player this month, but the Italian outfit turned down a bid for the player back in August.

“We have not received any offer from Manchester United this month, but we refused an offer from them on August 27 worth €50m (£37.6m),” Tare told Sport Mediaset (via Daily Star).

The Brazilian midfielder has been the talk of the town after an impressive season in Serie A last year. Linked with a move to Arsenal, it seems the exciting young midfielder has attracted interested from Manchester United as well.

The Brazilian is a technically gifted attacking midfielder with an abundance of flair and intelligence.

The Lazio midfielder is equally good at scoring goals as well as carving out chances for his teammates. His agility, flair and link up play has turned him into one of the most exciting young midfielders in Italy.

Anderson can operate in a number of positions and is very good on the ball – qualities that are very important for Louis Van Gaal.

Also, Manchester United can definitely use another attacking midfielder to take some pressure off Depay, Juan Mata and the young Adnan Januzaj.

Anderson’s transfer could prove to be vital for Manchester United this season. The Old Trafford outfit are still in the title race and adding an attacker like him could see them end the season strongly.
