I think torres is well happy where he is. He gave Athletico a year or two longer than was originally planned, but if he hadn’t then Utd would probably have got him.

the guy is an instant hit, with staff, players and fans alike. He cannot be anything other than happy.

He knows he will win trophies with Liverpool, and that is why he is here

I would say he keeps Athletico in his heart, but that is about it.

Just wondering…

Atletico Madrid win Champions League qualification for next season, which is about as much as Liverpool have done this season.

Wonder what Torres is thinking now – he’s had a chance to play for a better team, sure, but to leave behind the team you love and then to realise that you missed out on their best season in some time must be a bitch…

I have always had a soft spot for Ath Madrid. They have a good team at present, and I’m glad to see them into the CL next season.

Forlan turned out to be a pretty decent player, once Man Utd offloaded him. I wonder if they would’ve kept him then, knowing what they know now ??

Barca will take a bit of restructuring in the close season, they have looked under pressure this whole season. Maybe a new manager will help, and a clearout of a load of dead-wood.

It’ll be interesting to see Ath Madrid in the CL next year, just to see if this was a fluke that they got in, or if they are now a force to be reckoned with……
