I believe Guardiola has all the ingredients to become a top coach. So he's not proved himself anywhere, neither had Kenny Dalglish when he took over at Liverpool and he went on to win the double in his first season. Guardiola knows Barça better than anyone, he has character, a great footballing brain, he has great passion combined a cool head, he has also played under some excellent coaches (Cruyff, Robson, Van Gaal, Capello, Lillo) and for me is much less of a risk than a relative outsider like Mourinho who would have divided the club.Barça now need to get rid of the big name wasters like Ronaldinho and Thierry Henry. They need some players with the hunger for success that has been missing.

Agree that Rijkaard had to go, but Guardiola? I really think that appointment could be a big mistake.

Barcelona need to make wholesale changes after this season, but I'm not convinced a novice like Guardiola is the man to do it. They now run the risk of a streak of trophyless titles longer than the last one (5 years until Rijkaard won the league if I'm not mistaken)
