The Gunners have already signed players like Calum Chambers, Mathieu Debuchy and Alexis Sanchez, and if the reports are to be believed are keen to land Greek defender, Kostas Manolas, who plays for Olympiakos.

Well informed within the club, John Cross of the Daily Mirror claimed yesterday that the Gunners are hopeful of completing a a £6m deal for the 23-year-old centre half who has also been a target of Juventus.

Manolas impressed for Greece in the World Cup and Arsenal are planning to sign him to replace Thomas Vermaelen, who has joined Barcelona.

The Independent has a further update on the story. They claim that a deal is as good as done and that the defender is undergoing a medical with the Gunners.
