Liverpool defender Kolo Toure is unsure about his future at Liverpool and admits he has a very difficult decision to make.

Toure’s current deal expires this summer and although talks have been going on over a contract extension, so far nothing has yet materialised.

The 34-year-old is not a regular at Anfield but has always delivered whenever the team needed him to step up.

Toure, who earns around £60,000-a-week, admits that he needs to take a decision whether he would continue with the bit-part role or looking for regular football elsewhere.

“We are still talking to the club. We will see in a few days. The club have to think and I have to think,” he said.

“It is a big decision and that is why I need to think very hard and take a decision and stick with it.

“It is very important to know what you are facing. I need to do the right thing for me and my family.”

Toure has also nice things to say about Liverpool’s young midfielder Emre Can. The German midfielder has grown from strength to strength in recent months and has become an integral part in Rodgers’ new system.

“Emre is a top player,” Toure said, quoted by Liverpool Echo.

“He has been playing outstandingly at the back and in midfield he is a very strong player. We like him here.

“He is from Germany and German players are really good and I am not surprised about how well he’s doing. They learn football at an early age and they are really intelligent, tactically outstanding and are really strong.”

Jordan Henderson is the stand in skipper and could go on to become the next captain when Steven Gerrard leaves the club, but Toure feels Can has all the potentials to become an Anfield legend.
