Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado has confirmed that he wishes to stay in Serie A beyond this season but that is not entirely up to him.

The Colombian is on loan at Juventus after failing to impress during his short spell at Stamford bridge.

The former Fiorentina winger joined the Blues during the January transfer window of last season and was then loaned out to Juventus at the start of this season.

Cuadrado struggled with the pace and intensity of the English Premier League. Although the player had very little time to settle into his new environment, the initial signs were far from positive.

According to the Italian media, Chelsea and Juventus have a verbal agreement for the player and his loan move could be made permanent at the end of this season.

However, the reports also claim that Juventus are now unwilling to match Chelsea’s demands for the player and want to sign him for a discounted price.

Cuadrado has also confirmed that he has enjoyed great success in Italy and will stay there if everything goes to plan.

He said: “I’m happy to be back in Italy. Here is my second home. I’m happy for my family but the future doesn’t depend on me, I try to give my best and in the end, we’ll see what happens”.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea lower their demands in order to get the Colombian off their books this summer.

Furthermore, the player is keen on a move away and his parent club are willing to let him go. Therefore, a move will be finalised sooner rather than later.
