Readers of Soccerlens would very well know how we have covered the Arturo Vidal to Manchester United transfer saga. After we reported earlier today that Chilean newspaper El Mercurio sensationally claimed that Vidal had a verbal agreement to join the Red Devils, latest reports from Italy hint at an altogether different story.

According to the trusted Gianluca Di Marzio website and Gazzetta Dello Sport, new Bianconeri manager Massimiliano Allegri revealed to journalists that Vidal is going nowhere. Speaking ahead of Juventus’ pre season clash with Cesena tomorrow, Allegri calimed, “I spoke to him yesterday to better understand his condition, he’s motivated, the club and we are thrilled that he’ll stay in Torino.”

“He had surgery 32 days before the World Cup that is why he’s practicing separately. Vidal is fundamental and not just on the practical level.

The two contrasting reports on the same day, that too in the matter of a few hours throws light on two very interesting situations. First, whether the player himself would be willing to stay at his current club despite being enticed United’a offer to double his wages. The Red Devils are also willing to offer a whopping €60m to the Old lady for the World Cup star, one which will be very hard to reject for the Serie A Champions.

Secondly, Juventus’ tough stance on the 27 year old is understandable. They don’t want to part with their prized asset and in hindsight are fully aware that have to be resigned to lose the midfielder. We have seen earlier in numerous occasions in the past that a club playing hardball constantly rejecting claims have in the end sold the player concerned.

So what do you think? Will Vidal switch loyalties in the summer? Or will he stay put in Turin? A lot is set to unfold in this transfer saga.
