Chris I totally agree with u.

Peter Crouch is another option upfront with Rooney as he could give an aireal option.

Greetings! Nice website and Great coverage!

My views: Time to examine the Legendary Reign of Sven and compare that to Dear Steve which was miraculously rated 'Better'

Who said Sven is not good enough? Look at the reigns of reputated managers before Eriksson and 'energetic' managers after... England do not have anyone Bigger and more Reputated and more Effective than Eriksson.

Where was England whallowing when Sven decide to save England? What happened Immediately from his first match? Since when are wins Not Good Enough? So what is good enough for England's media and fans? Since when has England not fulfilled her potential?

My opinion: The Reign of Steve is England's Potential.

How many matches have they lost or drawn with Sven at the helm? And Steve is nearing that same number and he barely started his contract...

Sven basically understands the players for who they are: who will make the extra tackle, the extra run, the extra thought. How some players can do the full 90mins and others who have 3 matches a week will definately tone down and take England duties as a 'pit stop' as well as pickup some pocket money. He is diplomatic. He allows players half a game for friendlies. Players and managers are indebted to him. They will perform for him WHEN IT COUNTS.

Steve tells everyone he is more experienced since he took over? Please Steve, do not tell...JUST SHOW IT as Sven did.

Chris-My thoughts exactly.

Englands most effective starting 11 seems so easy to pick, I wonder why the powers that be seem incapable of picking it?

The only real issue I can see about the starting 11 should be who plays upfront with Rooney, and if the midfield and Rooney play as well as they can I think any half decent striker should be able to do a job there.

This is exactly what i expected.

Gerrard on the right, meaning we have ZERO width on the right. Our best right winger on the left, meaning he will cut in all the time and come back on his right foot, meaning going down the left will come to nothing. Lampard was rubbish again, and Rooney got frustrated over the lack of supply.

Defensively the mishmash held, but we were playing Israel. I didn't expect it to be tested too much.

I don't care if Lampard and Gerrard can play together. They just plain shouldn't. They play the exact same position for their teams. PICK ONE.

Surely England's midfield should be Lennon / Gerrard / Hargreaves / J.Cole. If Stevie is playing bad, play Lamps. If Owen is playing bad, play Carrick. Either way, thats a classy balanced midfield.

We need a manager with the balls to say 'here's the bench. Stevie messes up, and your in' to Lampard.

The result is disturbing to say the least. And you feel worse when you see Christiano Ronaldo going back to his country and replicating (exceeding actually) his club performance but English talent screwing around. I think England is going through a chronic managerial crisis..... an amazing hierarchy of football competitions, fascinating premier league, a fool-proof talent recognition system..... all going to waste. Rooney, Lampard.... disappointing performances!
