It would be uncharacteristically stupid for Barcelona to get rid of him.

Losing Yaya Toure will give Barca a huge gaping hole where Toure rumbled and conquered for the past two seasons. The reason why Xavi and Iniesta have the ball for most of the game, it is because Toure wins the ball. Javier Mascherano, the little man from Liverpool, will not be able to fill half the shoes of Toure's defensive ability, Mascherano is a great playmaker and hustles for the ball, but still a few feet too short to clear dangerous balls from the defensive end. Marquez is heading out, Milito also, losing Toure and not picking up Vidic and Evra has they hope, the Barca defensive will worse off than the Champions League Final.

It is a fact that Barcelona usually don't respect their players. They tend to "promise" what they can't afford, that happened before to Ronaldo (only one season in Barcelona, then to Inter), to Rivaldo, to Maradona, to Schuster, to Figo, to Laudrup... All their best players had to leave because they were all promised something they can't afford. This is why they are all worried about Messi. Probably they are promising Leo Messi they will revise his contract in one or two years. Then he will notice it is not true so he will leave to Premier League, Calcio or Real Madrid.
