Italian Giants Express Keen Interest In Liverpool’s Flop Striker

Fabio Borini of Liverpool

Fabio Borini is a forgotten man at Liverpool Football Club. After making 25 appearances in all competitions since signing in 2012, it now looks like he is going to offered an exit route to Italy. According to GDM, Inter Milan’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio is a big fan of the Italian striker and is willing to look at an opportunity to sign him in January.

In an interview to a television show, Ausilio said, ”We have the honesty to think that in December if there are some evaluations to make, we’ll make them, with humility. Borini? He’s a player I like very much. But I’m not aware that Liverpool would give him on loan or within the financial conditions we need to follow.”

Borini spent the whole of last season on loan at Sunderland and put in some impressive displays for the Black Cats. But, the former Chelsea man has struggled to establish himself in Brendan Rodgers’ side this season. He has made just 5 appearances in all competitions, and is yet to find the back of the net.

Rodgers is anyway facing a big problem up front, with none of his strikers able to deliver on a regular basis. With Luis Suarez sold to Barcelona in the summer, Mario Balotelli was brought in from AC Milan, but the Italian is yet to open his account in the Premier League. With Daniel Sturridge out injured, Borini, Baoltelli and Rickie Lambert’s poor forms have meant that the Reds have been extremely short of goals lately.

A move to Inter may be a good option for Borini, who, prior to joining Liverpool, had a fruitful stint with AS Roma.
