Chelsea striker Loic Remy is hopeful of making a quick recovery to return to full fitness ahead of the Blues away trip to Manchester United next Sunday.

The Blues are facing an injury crisis here in the forward department. Spain striker Diego Costa, who missed Chelsea’s previous two games, has been ruled out for the trip to Old Trafford, while Loic Remy picked up a groin problem in last night’s Champions League win over Maribor.

‘It was a bit stiff, and I didn’t feel very comfortable. That’s why I prefer to come off, if I’m not feeling very good it’s better to leave for another player who is 100 per cent,’ he said

‘We will see with the scan. I really hope it is not too bad. Fortunately I stopped playing because I felt something. I don’t think it is too bad but I felt something. My groin.

‘It’s frustrating of course because I had a chance to play because Costa is injured but I am not afraid. I don’t think it is really bad. We will check and I really hope to play again this weekend.

‘It is a huge game but every game is tough. Especially this one because it is a big game against a good opponent but I will try to recover as quickly as possible.’

Chelsea fans will be desperately hoping to see Remy back in action against United. The French striker has been in good form recently having scored for France during the international break as well.

Didier Drogba is the only option left for Mourinho, if Remy fails to recover before Sunday. The Blues are top of the league and unbeaten so far with 22 points from eight games, 10 points ahead of their opponents on Sunday.
