Manchester United summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic has admitted that he would never rule out a move to Major League Soccer (MLS) in the future.

The 34-year-old was signed by the Red Devils as the striker became Jose Mourinho’s second addition of in the current transfer window. He joined the 20-time English champions after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expire at the end of June.

Ibrahimovic’s future was much talked about before and during Sweden’s Euro 2016 campaign. He was also included in his national side’s Olympic squad, which could have delayed his making his appearance for the Red Devils.

However, the former Juventus and Barcelona striker put all these to bed after confirming retirement from international football following Sweden’s exit from the European championship. Ibrahimovic moved to Old Trafford as a free agent and before he signed for United, he had several offers for his services, including one from David Beckham’s Miami-based MLS franchise.

“I would never rule out the MLS in the future. I have a contract with Manchester United, but I feel in great shape. I feel as though I could play until I am 40. It is impossible to predict the future,” Ibrahimovic told Goal.

“I am not ruling out the MLS. Once I had decided to leave PSG there were many offers, but with Zlatan that is normal.

“I know that teams from the MLS were interested, but the opportunity to play for Manchester United, and of course to work with my good friend Jose Mourinho again, was impossible to turn down.”

“David is a good friend of mine, and he has asked me to play for his (Miami) team. For now, I want to achieve big things with Manchester United, but I have a lot of respect for the MLS, and anything is possible.”
