Ibrahim Afellay’s other half: Dorien Rose

The arrival of Ibrahim Afellay in the Barcelona dressing room in January is not only good news for the team. The fans will also be delighted the Dutch midfielder will be bringing along his girlfriend Dorien Rose, a model, singer and actress who is very popular in the Netherlands.

Dorien is a 27-year old who was born in Haarlem, Holland, to a Dutch father and German mother, but the family moved to Hong Kong when she was very young. Her first language is English despite returning to Holland when she was 6 years of age. She eventually settled back in her home town at the age of 18 and in 2003 was awarded her first modelling contract. One year later Dorien really hit the big-time when she featured in Playboy, after which she was awarded the first Dutch Playmate of the Year.

Besides also being a well-known face in the lingerie business she also developed a passion for acting, playing the female lead in the 2006 movie ‘Purgatory,’ directed by Mike Myers, and has since appeared in several TV and film roles. Dorien’s looks have been compared on more than one occasion to Angelie Jolie, and in one of her most famous parts she imitated Sharon Stone’s leg movements in the film Basic Instinct.
