Liverpool are looking to replenish the void left by Luis Suarez, who is set join Barcelona in the next few days, by adding quality players on the attacking front. Already the Reds have signed Rickie Lambert from Southampton and going by the reports are close to landing Benfica forward Lazar Markovic as well. Also, reputed media sources like The Times suggests that Liverpool are planning a move for Newcastle United’s Loic Remy and Swansea’s Wilfried Bony as well.

Brendan Rodgers will not only be looking to invest the money on buying quality players from Suarez’ sale, but also he may recoup some money by selling fringe players at the club at the same time. Iago Aspas has had a difficult first season at Liverpool and although he was injured for major part of the season, it seems like his career at Anfield is almost as good as over.

Iago-Aspas

According to Sevilla based local newspaper Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla have already agreed a personal deal to sign Iago Aspas, but are facing difficulties in agreeing terms with Liverpool.

Sevilla director Monchi wants to strengthen the attacking line-up and has shown interest in Aspas, who struggled to make a strong impression last season at Anfield. Sources close to ED has confirmed that there has been a genuine interest for the Spaniard, but Sevilla camp admits the difficulty in signing him permanently.

The Andalusian club have reached a personal agreement with the striker. Aspas earns around €1.5m per season at Andield, but is ready to accept low wages in order to join Sevilla, where he is guaranteed regular games.

The problem lies in negotiating with Liverpool. Sevilla are willing to sign him on loan, with an option of making the deal permanent next season, but Liverpool want at least half of the €9.5m paid by them last season.

There has been also been a suggestion that Alberto Moreno could be included as a part of the deal but that is highly unlikely to happen.
