Bobmagee, I'm not sure we differ if I understand you. There's shouting at the ref in games certainly...and that behavior can lead to warnings and even dismissals such that fixture results may be affected. If one didn't lead to the other, I think you'd have a point...but that's not the case.

Rooney gave him the excuse and he has gotten away with quite a lot, imho. Discipline's part of the game and 'The Boy' is quite an appropriate moniker b/c of this kind of thing.

If you look at the replay of the sending off, Rooney didn't really shout a lot at the ref, his complaints lasted about seconds, he simply pointed out that, that was where the free kick was to be taken and stormed off, the only thing he did was punch the corner flag which, though irresponsible, isn't really disrespect to the ref (the one who got the decision wrong in the first place)

For the record I never said “Haha, you can’t think of a comeback"
However I do agree that players do complain too much for to refs but most of the time players only complain when the ref gets something wrong and if the players just shut up and smiled at the ref for making mistakes, all the onus is taken off them to make the right calls, remember Sunderland last season? Roy Keane explicitly said to his players not to complain about decisions and as a result they hardly got any right decisions to go their way.
This is where better ref training (and my ingenious financial scheme) comes into play, as I said most refs only train once a week and most also have outside jobs, surely making them full time would allow them to improve but i guess the FA doesn't would rather spend their millions elsewhere.

"Haha, you can't think of a comeback, you've run out of ideas"...grow up for fucks sake. Probably wasn't a yellow, but, maybe it will stop some of his temper tantrums. I'm a Liverpool fan, so it's obvious how I feel about Man Utd and their players. But, I'm so sick of all players disrespecting the ref (i'm not saying Rooney throwing the ball was...Bobmagee.) Every time Javier Mascherano is even spoken to by the ref I just get so angry when he doesnt just accept it and walk away, always a carry on. Players need to realise that a referee isn't going to turn around and say "Aw yeah, fair point son" and reverse his decision. Whether you like it or not, get on with the game, it can't be changed.

Kasia - I did read what you wrote, it just didn't make any sense. Throwing a ball for a freekick to be retaken is LIKE kicking the ball in to the crowd? Erm, what?

I have left 4 good comments explaining my opinion but you on the other hand dismiss them and have to just say that "your comment wasn't worth any argument" well that looks like the talk of someone who has run out of ideas.

Bobmagee, ever heard about 'irony'? Your comment, wasn't worth any argument; you just think that this card was unjust and seem to be content with insulting everyone who thinks otherwise.
