How to scare Arsenal fans to death

…link a 31-year old, injury-prone, error-prone defender to the club and make him look like Wenger’s first choice partner for another 31-year old, injury-prone, error-prone defender.

They’re both pretty fast though (fast enough to escape from Man City/Sunderland and Chelsea, respectively), although it’ll be interesting to see if Wenger says ‘I didn’t see the headbutt’ after the signing.

I jest – Silly is a good defender who for one reason or the other (Rio, Vidic, Brown, Heinze, Evra being 5 good reasons over the last 3-4 years, injuries making it 6) hasn’t cemented a starting berth in the Manchester United lineup.

He’s not a United legend by a long distance so it won’t pain any United fans to see him go and miss out on his ‘testimonial’ – especially since giving him one would cheapen the idea (again, not because he’s bad [which he's not], but because he hasn’t been special for United).

Still, with Clichy, Traore, Gallas and Silvestre in the bag, what are the odds that Abidal is also headed to the Emirates to form the ‘Fabulous 5 French Left Backs’ tribe under Wenger’s command?

I don’t see him going to Arsenal – and I especially don’t see him as a first-teamer at Arsenal – so let’s see how this one plays out.

  1. apparently he’s been on the ‘verge’ of a move to arsenal for the whole day now.

Don’t know what would be funnier – this happens and Arsenal fans panic, or this doesn’t happen and the Guardian get more egg on their face. Hmmm….

Silvestre has moved to arsenal and i can bet u a lot of money he aint gonna get injured at all…he aint gonna get the chance 2 get injured :L due to him hardly playing any games…He should have gone to man city cause he’s more likely to get a game there..they don really have any mint left backs.
Does anyone recon united should get Berba?… i don fink they need im he’s a bad team player and complains a lot…that dream could not end too good surely.
