Henry return inspires Arsenal to a 4-0 win over Charlton

With Thierry Henry back in the team, Arsenal looked better than ever, defeating Charlton 4-0 at the Emirates.

Thierry Henry who had just returned from injury, put Arsenal ahead with a 29th-minute penalty after Charlton full-back Osei Sankofa was red-carded for a professional foul.

Full-back Justin Hoyte got his first Arsenal goal in stoppage time, before Robin van Persie wrapped things up for Arsenal after 74 mins from another penalty and a delicate chip in the closing stages to inflict a first defeat on new Addicks boss Alan Pardew.

Arsenal played extremely well today, I thought, Thierry Henry looked like he had never been injured and Van Persie was still in his best form.

Talking Points:

1) Should it have been a penalty? It changed the whole game.

2) Arsenal got the goals but they could have gotten 10 instead of 4, such was their dominance. A little more direct play would have helped, but you can’t take away from a commanding performance under the pressure of injuries. Well done Arsenal.
