Wenger has been at the helm of Arsenal for over 16 years now and during this period the London club has won three Premier League titles.

The problem is their last major silverware came back in 2005 when Henry was the league’s top scorer with 30 goals. The fans have been raving for a trophy and questions have been asked over the certain grey areas at the club that includes Wenger’s managerial ability as well.

Thierry Henry was signed in 1999 from the Serie A giants Juventus and Wenger turned him into a striker, a decision that paid rich dividends in the years to come. The 35-year-old scored 175 goals, in eight seasons with Arsenal and went on to become one of the greatest ever strikers in the modern era.

Naturally, he has deep respect for Wenger and believes the 63-year-old Frenchman deserves more respect for his achievements at the North London club. He told Reuters in an interview:

“For me, it is difficult to hear, difficult to see, but for me the boss will always be Arsene – always great for me and I know what he has done for the club.

“You are always going to get judged on your last performance or what you are doing at the moment.

“For me it is kind of hard to criticise Arsene Wenger, knowing what he has done for the club, how he has changed the club and how the team is playing right now compared to how the team was playing before.”

Arsenal have won three of the last four matches and are just four points behind fourth placed Tottenham. Henry has however revealed that he would love to return back to his beloved club in any “type or shape”.

Last year he spent a loan spell at Arsenal in the MLS close season and spent time training with the club this year.
