Very intelligent and accurate article. Pretty much sums it all up right there. In due time Americans (at least the MLS and National side) will progress, but as stated there are many more profitable professional options here than abroad, and only time will tell. The only argument is the Woman's team, so dominant, which makes me believe IF/when the Men's team becomes a consistant top 5 team, they will be there to stay and most likely dominate. HUGE IF.

There was a lot of good points throughout, but the most important one is this:
"The more kids who begin to play on their own, on the streets, from an organic love of soccer is what will begin to change the sport from inside out, and begin to force the existing soccer industry to change. "

I am Canadian, and I know that there is a lot of kids out there playing the game, and we keep hearing staggering #'s on how many actually do play the game. Too many of these kids are being forced to play by their parents just to get them active and don't actually care for the game. Only the ones who truely love the sport continue on to play it through their teens. So that makes the stats seem like football is alive and kicking here in Canada, I must admit, it is in better shape then about 10 years ago when I was playing it but it is still not a local passion.
