Have Liverpool already signed Rafinha?
Recently Rafa Benitez talked about how he had already signed three Liverpool players for next season, two of those youth prospects while the other a senior “ready for the first team”.
This player according to ‘The Daily Mail’ is believed to be the FC Schalke right-back Rafinha. With Guilleme Balague, La Liga expert and close confidant of Rafa Benitez, somewhat reticent on who this player is in his weekly podcast ‘The Game’ can anyone shed any light on this matter?
A lot of Liverpool fans are eager to find out whether the rumours are indeed true. Clearly the full-back positions are in need of improvement and after seeing Rafinha play for the last two seasons one is in no doubt that he would be a more than welcome addition to the Liverpool starting line-up. If it is not him then we may well be looking at the recruitment of a certain Jose Boswinga. Either way both players are fantastic right-backs in their own right.
Anyone got any news?

Guilleme Balague has said that the player in english
April 10th, 2008 @ 10:52Steven Taylor it is.
April 10th, 2008 @ 11:58Taylor? It might be a striker or a winger.
Bentley?
April 10th, 2008 @ 13:28i hope its bonsiga more than rafiha, bcause he is faster and better at crossing. Either way were headiong in the right direction.
April 10th, 2008 @ 15:23He is a quality player but i heard it was Jansen from bayern munich but i just dont know i hope Benitez says something about it
April 10th, 2008 @ 17:44How about Theo Walcott it has been suggested by people who are v good at gussing that he is the name in the frame. But my guess would have been Billy Jones formaly of Crewe
April 10th, 2008 @ 19:02It’s Fred Flintstone of Bedrock FC
April 11th, 2008 @ 00:10agree with dan. hope it is Bonsiga. Rafinha is over-rated and would think he is well expensive too.
April 11th, 2008 @ 11:25its Bosingwa by the way.
April 11th, 2008 @ 11:36rafinha is talented.. but liverpool should looking or have world class defender for this summer break..
April 11th, 2008 @ 13:05i heird that theirry henry is leaving barcelona because he wants to go back to the prem we could have a good chance with him a partner for torres ?
April 11th, 2008 @ 17:48My friends were out last night in Dublin and met sky sports pundit Andy Gray. They chatted about the Champion’s League, England, Cappello and Andy apparently believes that Liverpool have a done deal on Rafinha.
It this is true, awesome!
April 11th, 2008 @ 19:42To be honest I hope it is Bently cause we need a good winger who can actualy cross imagine how many goals we will score then. Also I hope we sign David Silva
April 19th, 2008 @ 12:06MMM I am also hopeful we get David Silva, and Sergio Aguero, but I don’t think either will happen, why would Altetico sell, and we were interested in Silva last year, nothing happened.
April 24th, 2008 @ 16:42Rafinha is only 22, don’t tell me he’s over-rated at 22, he has much to learn and I think if we use Babel up-top, Rafinha can play wing or left back.
The player is Phillip Degen, a Switzerland international right-back who plays for Borussia Dortmund. His contract expires at the end of this season and according to sources in Germany he has already signed a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool. Degen, 25, will complete his move on a Bosman on July 1st.
According to the Liverpool Echo Rafinha was never an intended target of Rafael Benitez’s.
Further, during a recent press conference the Liverpool manager alluded to Scott Carson and Danny Guthrie perhaps returning to the club from once their loan spell comes to an end.
Other serious targets are David Bentley, Gareth Barry, Fernando Amborietta and less likely, Maxi Rodriguez.
April 25th, 2008 @ 00:58i read today on Liverpool Pies that degen has denied he has signed for liverpool,so we may be wrong but i think it’s my favourate Rodriguez or rafinha both of them would be good.
April 27th, 2008 @ 23:48I think david villla and david silva along with ricardo quaresma of fcporto would win the league for the pool. Liverpool need a left back , a right back 2 wingers and a top quality striker aswell. Also i have heard that Jesus navas is on his way to lpool
May 11th, 2008 @ 18:38Liverpool ins this summer-Ricardo quaresma-fc porto,David silva-valencia,Amantino mancini-As roma,Rafhina-Fcshaclke04,Gareth Barry-aston villa and finally sergio aguero-atlectico madrid. If all of these pull off and mr Benitez pulls out his check book then i think it will be a very gud season for lpool nxt season. UP THE POOL!!!!!!!!!
