@Ahmed: On holidays! Didn't you see my previous post. I timed it to coincide with the international break as much as possible!

And we only lost 2! I was on after the Liverpool game...feeling sheepish it must be said! :)

Interesting reading the offended Liverpool fans on here. How dare someone have a go at Benitez....the player is rubbish!

Now reading Liverpool fans on here and on many other sites over the last year:

So is Kuyt
So is Aurelio
So id Arbeloa
So is Lucas
So is Benayoun
So is Dossena
So was Crouch
So was Voronin

In fact Liverpool fans have been furious at Benitez sticking with Lucas and to a lesser extent Dossena.

Babel on the othet hand, one of their more expensive and most promising signings of the last 2 years has been given little chance to prove himself. Benitez is a poor man manager. He tried to blame the Agger saga on the club not being quick enough with a new transfer. We now know that was a red herring. The player is unhappy at not being picked. Unreasonable maybe, but it's Benitez's job to manage the situation.

Yet how dare someone else criticise Benitez! The same Benitez that the majority of Liverpool fans withdrew their support for after the Boro defeat 2 months ago!!

Gotta love the scousers. :)

This is article is blatently another of the many swipes from other fans against rafa benitez. Ryan babel hasn't played many games simply because he just hasn't matured yet. I mean look at Nani at manchester united: all the potential to be the next Cristiano Ronaldo, thats why they forked out a massive £14.5 million pounds, even more than Babel, and yet they have both one thing massively in common. They have no idea what so ever how to pass a ball! You can look in soo many games, both of them hold the ball up and then when they try to play it, it's just a waste. No wonder Babel has been on the bench so much, because Riera seems to be a great passer, and especially a great crosser of the ball, and seems to be on the same wavelength as Gerrard and Torres. This is another thing Babel lacks in his game, perhaps if he was to be played in a strikers role, then the comparisons to Henry might be seen, but when you've got the best striker in the world ahead of you in the pecking order, there's harly going to be much chance of that role offered to him. Finally, the only person that has ruined Ryan Babel is himself, simply because in too many occasions, whether they have been from the start of the game, or off the bench, he just hasn't delivered what so ever. I mean a few goals here and there is expected, look at Benayoun for an example of that, but he just doesn't seem to be cut out for this league. Maybe an italian club will snap him up, and because of the old fogey's that are drowning out Serie A, he may be of some effect, by using his pace to get past them, but simply because they're waiting for their senior citizens bus pass!

Well I missed them unfortunately. I do hope they were broke down as this writer has done. All I ever heard about SWP is that it was his fault for going there, that he should have known what he was getting himself into. The same could be said here abot Babel if that were true, but I personally don't accept that stance.

I agree with Van Basten's statement. My question is why didn't we ever read an article like this when Wright-Phillips was wasting away at Chelsea under Mourinho?

He went to play for Holland at the Olympics, against Rafa's advice. He showed where his loyalties were and has paid a harsh price. If he wants to go sell him on, out of the Prem, spain would suit his style of play.

First things first, I am a BIG Ryan Babel Fan.
However we play 4-2-3-1 and play our best football with Gerrard supporting Torres, We didnt need Robbie Keane as we dont play 4-4-2 end of! Was clearly a Parry buy to soften the blow of not buying Barry from Villa. At least rafa had balls to get rid of players quickly. Crouch wanted to leave to play every week, and as playing 1 up front crouchy was NEVER gonna displace Torres. Question is who do you drop for ryan babel?? He should stop his moaning, pull his socks up and prove he is worthy of getting more playing time. Take a leaf out of Yossi's book, he's kept his head down and earned more playing time through hard work when he's on the pitch. What has Babel done this season for Rafa to start him more often, Nothing! He sulks, 1st touch dreadful and doesnt work hard enough when the opposition has the ball.

I desperately want Ryan Babel to succeed, i think he should have nailed down the right wing and it's there for the taking but he needs to improve and quickly
