Harry targets Muntari: Stay Away from Sulley!

Sulley Muntari is definitely a player who directly fits the bill for Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp.

The Spurs manager has made a habit of signing former players with Tottenham stars’ Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch, Niko Kranjcar and Younes Kaboul all part of his Portsmouth squad during his time at Fratton Park.

Muntari was a Pompey player two years ago before Jose Mourinho spent £12.7m to take the Ghanaian to Giuseppe Meazza. But after dropping down the pecking order in Italy, Muntari may be eager to go back to England.

But despite Muntari’s availability – and perhaps for half or one-third of the price that took him to Italy – he is not exactly the ‘special player’ Redknapp is looking for.

Muntari is definitely not in a career high and his abilities do not surpass the abilities of any of the Spurs’ midfield.

He might be useful in some cases because of his physical strength – although I don’t think this is an adequate reason to bring him to White Hart Lane.

I personally doubt his pure footballing is up to the standards required at a Premier League-challenging team.
