remy Arsenal & Liverpool target available for cheap buyout clause

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has revealed Arsenal and Liverpool target Loic Remy could leave the club and admitted the striker has a “reasonable buyout clause.”

The France international shined during his season-long loan spell at Newcastle United, where he scored 14 goals from 26 league games. The former Tottenham boss admitted that he is set to lose the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window.

“I don’t see (Loic) Remy wanting to come back and play. He’s talking about playing Champions League somewhere,” Redknapp admitted.

“I wouldn’t know what he’ll do, but I think he’s got a buyout clause which is at a reasonable level. Not much more than we paid for him.”

Redknapp’s latest comments on Remy will attract interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. The two clubs are believed to be interested in landing the free-scoring striker in the coming transfer window, according to the Independent.

QPR manager had earlier admitted that Remy wants to leave the Hoops as he is eyeing to feature in the Europe’s most elite club competition next campaign.

“Remy wants to play Champions League football next season, so they tell me. The chances of us keeping him are not great if he’s got a buy-out clause. He’s done well at Newcastle, and one or two other big clubs are trying to get him, so there’s every chance he will go,” QPR boss said.

“I chased him at Tottenham, and I knew he would do well. He’s a scorer, and with the right team pushing to get in the top four, he’s capable of getting 20 goals. If I say he’s worth £20m and his buy-out clause is £10m, or whatever, then it’s difficult.”

Liverpool legend Mark Lawreson has also urged Brendan Rodgers to sign Remy to strengthen the Anfield outfit’s strike force.

The Gunners and the Reds could have a summer battle in signing Remy. Arsene Wenger is looking to bring in a proven striker for the next season to play alongside Olivier Giroud. While the Merseyside club are keen on improving their squad depth as they return to the Champions League.
