Liverpool v Manchester United, Arsenal v Chelsea - 6 days to Grand Slam Sunday

So next Sunday sees 2 pivotal games played in the EPL, Liverpool host Manchester United – which is always a little bit tasty – and Chelsea travel to the Emirates to play Arsenal – usually equally sumptuous. So the big 4 playing each other on the same day; and the FA tells us the fixture list is random…
A mixed weekend for the top 4 this week though. 2 wins for last seasons big 2, 2 losses for last seasons lesser 2. So, a quick summary of each team then…
Manchester United

Nobody ever really believed that whipping boys Derby County could take anything from Old Trafford, even under the leadership of survival expert Ray Mears Paul Jewell. The 4-1 was more or less to the script; I say more or less as Rooney didn’t return to the score sheet, Steve Howard actually scored, in fact Derby actually scored away from home, but it was a good performance on the whole. Carlos Tevez was in good form again, so they look in good shape heading into this week.
The first team squad have got the week off in truthfulness; Champions League Super 16 status already gained, and also they will top the group no matter what happens, they can afford to take a minimal squad to the Olimpico to face AS Roma. Also no big injury worries ahead of the visit to Anfield next week, so Sir Alex is in buoyant mood and high spirits, one might feel. He has however reiterated his standpoint on foreign players, calling for the quota system to be introduced. Other than that, a decent weekend for Sir Alex.
Chelsea
The ghost of Mourinho still lurks at Stamford Bridge these days. They are starting that old Jose chestnut on producing
‘ugly’ football whilst beating the lesser sides. Last week, West Ham were less than swept aside 1-0, and this week it was Sunderland who were beaten by an Andrei Shevchenko tap-in and a Lampard penalty 2-0. I’m not criticising of course, you get 3 points I don’t care how a team plays, and as a result they are obviously a good team for taking 3 points. However, another Mourinho party-piece was producing scintillating football when required. Be afraid Gunners, be very afraid…
Like United, the first team squad will get a rest at home to Valencia one feels. Qualification to the Super 16 assured as group winners, so they can rest a few players for the short trip across the capital to play Arsenal. Big worry for next week though is who can lead the front line. Didier Drogba has had surgery on his dodgy knee. Brighter news at the back though, Petr Cech is due back after a calf injury. Also Avram Grant has had his say on foreigners, saying that they are good for the English game and the system is currently working. Good weekend for Grant and Chelsea on the whole.
Liverpool
Shitty weekend for Liverpool. Simple as that. Steve Coppell lulled us Scousers into a false sense of security saying that ‘I’m not really bothered…Liverpool will win anyway’ – this doesn’t overshadow my favourite Coppell quote though; ‘I’m being linked to the England job but everyone keeps putting an ‘O’ on the end of my name’. Nice wit Stevie. In truth the 3-1
score-line didn’t at all flatter Reading, it was fully deserved on the run of play in my opinion. Of course Andre Marriner didn’t help not giving Liverpool 3 stone-wall pens and giving Reading a pen for a challenge outside the box, but I think take away those challenges then Liverpool fans will agree there were very little or no chances for Liverpool to kill the game off at 1-1, and save 2 Torres chances had no clear cut chances throughout the game, and very few half-chances.
Huge week ahead for Benitez and Liverpool, which will shape the way the rest of the season will pan out for the club. Firstly, the must-win in Southern France against Marseilles, then the bosses are coming over, then United are coming. Its all go for the ‘Pool at the moment, and there will be no let up for any of the first team (one suspects – lest we forget that we are talking about the incarnate of Claudio Ranieri). No new injury problems for Rafa B as yet though, and he is focussed solely on Europe for the moment.
Arsenal
An equally shitty weekend for Arsenal. Really top game at the Riverside though, and Middlesbrough fully deserved the 2-1 victory. It seems that the Premiership have found the key to unlock Arsenal’s free-flowing football, which is just get in the way of the ball when they pass it and put pressure on the ball carrier so that he has to make the pass quickly. God, how
long did it take O’Neill, Allardyce and Southgate to work that out?
Seriously though since the second half of the Villa game we have seen a vulnerable Arsenal. Villa could have taken a point against the Gunners, maybe even could have won it. The second half against Newcastle was the same, the Magpies very unlucky not to take more from the game. And ‘Boro continued the trend, and finally took all 3 off Arsenal. Its up to the judgement of the individual on whether or not its teams breaking Arsenal down, or Arsenal breaking themselves down.
Arsenal have a relatively laid back week compared to Liverpool, as although Super 16 status assured, they aren’t top of their group, which may prove troublesome later in the competition. They need to win and hope that Sevilla lose if they are to go top of the group, which means your guess is as good as mine as to whether some of the squad will be rested. Certainties to miss out however include Cesc Fabregas and Aliaksandr Hleb, who are still recovering from injury. Expect a return against Chelsea for the pair though, who apparently are close, yet no cigar. Also Wenger has been quite vocal this weekend, saying that Jens Lehmann is staying on the bench at Arsenal and nowhere else, and that foreigners are also good.
So 6 days to go, what are your thoughts ahead of Grand Slam Sunday?
- Van Persie: Manchester United are bigger threat to Arsenal than Chelsea or Liverpool
- Manchester United move 3 clear of Arsenal, 5 clear of Chelsea, teach Liverpool how to rotate a squad
- Do Arsenal fans still give a f*** about Chelsea’s Cashley Cole?

I love the team spirit in the Man Utd camp. Ronaldo takes the ball from Tevez for the penalty, stopping him getting his first hattrick. Surely it had nothing to do with the fact that Ronaldo has never scored a United hattick himself?
At last an article concerning the top teams!for this weekend im hoping hargreaves is fit.does anyone know the length his “minor”calf strain will take to heal.because his energy will be needed to marry gerrard on sunday.
I have different opinion about Arsenal..
before the Middlesbrough match, Arsenal is simply unstoppable becos they have a full squad with Hleb (one of the main factor why Arsenal has been in such top form this season), Flamini & Cesc Fabregas (who is on top gear b4 he gets injured) in the mid-field area who can pass the ball quickly and link up the fluent attacking play..
so even the oppenent tries to attack Arsenal with a full squad like what Middlesbrough did in the match, i doubt the results will be like what we just saw on Sunday (at least we will still see tons of chances from Arsenal but fail to take any of them which we have seen from Arsenal the whole of last season)
thus i think the only weakness Arsenal has this season is in the depth of the squad.. especially in the mid-field area.. Diarra still haven’t really adapt into the Arsenal squad in the last 2 games i saw him playing (maybe due to the lack of games @ Arsenal)
Are you really a Liverpool Fan? You need to get behind your team im sure if any of the Liverpool Lads read this knowing your a Liverpool Fan they would be very dissapointed. Fact is we were 7 points with a game in hand off the top b4 the weekend started and after the weekend we are still in that position. How can you say United played well? They struggled from what i saw.
Anyway i cant wait for grand slam last years was great what a goal Pennant scored I really hope Crouchie and Torres are up front agaisnt the mancs!!
The weekened wasnt bad I think a draw suited both teams as Reading only had 2 shots on target if you dont include their set peices and Liverpool didnt deserve to win cause we didnt play well simple as that.
Arsenal is slipping b/c they’re missing Hleb and Fabregas. Not because teams have found out how to break them down. It’s like Chelsea without Drogba/Lampard. Totally different team.
to liverpool fan
which game did you watch?
united struggled?!!!!
it took nearly a half time to bag the first goal but we were in control from the start.
you are the team that struggles to win matches because of your s***** rotation policy. how can you rotate players when you dont even have a team of half decent players to rotate.
not that i dont love to see your team struggle (i wish you lot get relegated this year), but take my advise and sack benitez, yes he was a good manager but you cant keep a manager just because he lead his team to 2 fimals in 3 years.
Ok Richard, what is your point? If Tevez really wanted to take the penalty he would have. In my opinion he is not the kind of player who gets bothered by that kind of shit. Ronaldo is. So let Ronaldo get his goals this season and rack up another ‘Player of the Year’ award and get off the back of Man Utd whose team spirit is examplary.
Arsenal fans, whom I generally respect, you sound like a broken record on a different player. Last season Mourinho was complaining of injuries and you were telling him to stick a sock in it. Right? This season you are all complaining about your injuries. Your precious 5 or 6 injuries. Talk about hypocracy. At least Mourinho had some talent sidelined (Terry, Cole, Cech, Robben, Ballack all out at the same time), you have your precious Fabregas and the Arsenal version of Saha in van Persie plus Hleb.
But enough complaining. 1-2 on Sunday at the Emirates.
Ouch Andrei, bitter much? Not realizing Arsenal has struggled because of injury is foolish. Take out all but one of the starting midfield on any team and see how the results change. Blah blah Chelsea last year. The reason Arsenal fans give them crap about their injuries is they are Chelsea. We don’t like them.
And RVP? Just wait and see his impact when he returns. He has lived in the shadow of number 14 his whole career at Arsenal and barring more injuries (which I am sad to say he is prone to) this will still be his break out year.
2-0 Arsenal
Adebayor is the problem for Arsenal. He is wasting too many chances and prevents the other striker from getting the ball(something Henry was doing in the last two to three seasons). We still managed to get balls near their penalty box, only for adebayor to waste them because of his atrocious first touch. Still Wenger seems to be persisting with him. Eduardo and Bendntner would be a good combo and he should try that. Just hoping RVP is back in time for the chelsea game…………………
NB. lots of people are saying that Arsenal is starting to slip up. If you had told us at the start of the season that the Gunners would be leading Manure by one point by December, we would have happily accepted that, so this is not a problem……..
tough week for liverpool! but i believe reds can get through marseille since they have a good mentality when it comes to do or die game.
rotation? i think benitez shouldn’t do that too much. it seems that he doesn’t have a fixed game plan for his team and always tried something new every week. experimenting is fine only when it’s done in the pre-season.
Boom!! Gunners!! I admit I am a little bit bitter. Seeing an Arsenal team, which I tipped to be overtaken by Spurs - who are disastrous this season, to your delight - in the top four, lead Man Utd is driving me nuts!! Seriously. I admit I should not be bitter but I cannot help it. I just love to hate Arsenal and I think it is a two way relationship - or at least I hope it is. Nevertheless, I have to respect their ’sexy’ approach to the game.
Going back to your injuries: you have Hleb, van Persie, Fabregas and Flamini. Pretty much you central midfield is decayed and your two suporting attackers - because that is what both Hleb and vP have been used as this season - are on the treatment table. However in your central midfield position you have a World Cup winner and a relatively good player - much better than Flamini - in Gilberto plus a skilled marathon runner in Diarra. Both of these players are good and while neither could be as creative as Fabregas they have tons of quality.
It is your creative spark which is missing. Hleb was not as much of a blow as you would like to think. His absence is accentuated by the lack of a real, fit supporting striker. Eduardo is proving to be a first class flop so far and somebody mentioned that Adebayor is missing more chances than he actually gets. Bentner is a so-so player and Walcott is not nearly as good as either Lennon, Nani or other Premier League equivalents; so what you really have is the ‘lack-of-depth’ syndrome in the attacking department.
No doubt that injuries are *part* of your slight decline, but my opinion is that Arsenal pushed too hard too early in the season and thus are now facing a burn-out. This is reflected in the increasing injury list which is surely in no small part due to the increasing fatigue of the squad.
Grand Slam Sunday will show that while there might be a Big Four, there is an even Bigger Two: Manchester United and Chelsea. This has been the message from the EPL over the last two seasons. Liverpool and Arsenal will come under tremendous pressure from the “Bigger Two” on sunday. Although I expect Liverpool and Arsenal to just about escape with home draws, they could just as easily come off Anfield and The Emirates having registered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League.
The Bigger Two have squads better equipped to go the length of an EPL season, which as we all know is a marathon not a sprint. Liverpool have a strong squad and won’t be far away come the end of the season, but they have a very dangerous period coming up over the next two weeks which could make or break their season and Benitez with it (Marseille Champions League, United EPL, Chelsea QF Carling Cup, Portsmouth EPL). Arsenal, as usual, could flatter to deceive and eventually fall away. As the games at Seville, Newcastle and Middlesboro have shown over the last two weeks, the Arsenal squad is probably too thin to win the EPL.
Yo Andrei at least we played horribly and lost. Your team lost two matches, both of which they utterly dominated and still couldnt score even one goal. Whats the point of being creative if there are no goals coming? Arsenal had a bad match agreed. None of us Gooners expected them to go unbeaten. So none of us are really mortified by the loss…
iqnadirshah finally someone other than me notices this adeybayor i agree on that he is a wasteful fuck!
Sorry Shaun in all honesty i didnt watch united i listened to them on radio and it sonded like they werent getting any chances.
Frankie i have to disagree i think Uniteds squad is lacking depth this season and even if they come away from anfield with something i think this could be an interesting winter
Liverpool Fan, the only question mark over United’s squad is that they are probably a fit striker short.
In the EPL, we have the “Big Four” and the “Bigger Two” (United and Chelsea). Well, if Rooney and Ronaldo remain fit for the rest of the season - much as it might pain Liverpool - United will once more end up as the “Dominant One”.
Liverpool_Fan, how can you say that United lack depth?
Everybody’s going on about Arsenal’s “injury crisis”, but everybody conveniently forgets that United had about 8 first-teamers out at some point. And we coped!
How can you possibly justify that we lack depth?
[…] you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! It might still be some days ahead but with Arsenal and Chelsea both having qualified for the UEFA Champions League knockout stages, […]
It’s true what Frankie says, we desperately short of a striker.
iqnadirshah: “Whats the point of being creative if no goals are coming?” - to entertain the fans.
Also it has not been ONE loss that you guys havs suffered. There have been three horrible results in the last four and the Arsenal fans that I know - which include two family members - are indeed mortified. They did not expect to go unbeaten but they never though that they will only win one of four at any stage in the season.
liverpool is going to smack down the manutd players…as specially MANUTD WINGER,CRISTIANO RONALDO!#&^%*!!!! while arsenal is going to enjoy their friendly match with their geng….CHELSEA PLAYERS….
Sunday will certainly be tight for Arsenal. I just pray that RVP and Fab are fit. Still I have faith that Arsenal can win;draw looks quite likely. Hope thge scousers can take something away from their game.
I think it was Ferguson who said ‘Ronaldo is our penalty taker. He takes the penalties.’
What if we get a penalty against Liverpool from Chopper Caragher, and Ronaldo misses cause he hasn’t had enough practise?
Chelsea 1 - 1 Arsenal
Man United 3 - 2 Liverpool
Bring on the weekend!
Its not insulting United i think they have one of the top sides in europe its just that if you took away the best 11 from the top four and had to play their second string team i think it would end up like this.
2nd.Chelsea
4th.Liverpool
5th.Arsenal
11th.Man Utd
[…] If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! It’s a shame that Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League, Group F at the Stadio Olimpico clash between AS Roma and Manchester United will be nothing more than academic. Both sides have qualified for the knockout stages and Man United have won the group. Sir Alex Ferguson has also committed himself to several alterations to the squad that traveled to Rome with Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Carlos Tevez and Rio Ferdinand all rested ahead of the weekend’s titan clash with Liverpool. […]
Im a Man u fan, but i have yo say RVP really is a class act, and now with no henry he’s bound to make a huge impact. Comment 26 is just the most ridiculous thing ive ever seen, so ill ignore it, but concerning this week-end, Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea and Liverpool 2-2 United, but i can easily see United nickin a win maybe 2-1.
I agree with comment 25 on the penalty takers, they have to be professional about it, and let our penalty taker takr the penalties, cause at the end of the day id rather see united;s GD go up rather than risk missing it
Most ridiculous thing youve ever seen huh i take it you dont get out often?
why the fuck would you want to compare the second string sides, it serves o purpose!!
because we are talking about squad depth duh dont spit out your bottle when things aint going ur way.
Shaun please support united seriously United lack depth
United’s team currently consists of:
3 GK
4 CB
2 RB
2 LB
5 CMF
3 AMF
3 ST
Apart from up front, how much more depth do you want?
I often wonder why people call us reds biased….
Andrei -
So what’s your point about Arsenal ‘whinging’ about injuries? Mr’Short-term memory’ doesn’t remember Man Utd fans complaining about their injuries at the start of this season? Since when the hell have you heard Wenger (or even SAF) complain about their injuries list AD NAUSEAM? Even Benitez, who’s had the worst managerial luck in terms of injuries this season, has gotten over it & come back in style. Its only the fracking fans who whine about injuries really. Everyone does it so lets accept that fact & move on.
All this talk about ‘depth’ in the squad & not being up for the ‘marathon’ that is the Premiership is complete & utter crap. You only play from game to game & you depend on your player’s form for that. Who thought that Hleb would step up this season after the last 2 shite seasons he’s had? He’s played really well despite the umpteen number of knocks he takes from the other players (remember McShane’s groin stamp on him in the Sunderland match-up?) & he still keeps coming back to score & perform.
It’s all down to the psychological make-up of the player & how he’s feeling on that particular day. A really good player will overcome all these problems & still manage a decent performance.
Our midfield is ‘decayed’? Give me a break! How many 1-0 wins did you guys have to grind out before Man Utd hit goal scoring form with Tevez?
RVP as a ’supporting’ attacker? Wtf? He’s our main striker this season! We’ve been without him for 2 months, playing in shitty 4-5-1 formations with Adebayor up front & we’re still in the lead on points & most goals scored this season! What the hell does that tell you eh?
‘Arsenal pushed too hard too early in the season and thus are now facing a burn-out…’
Wtf? I suppose Liverpool pushed harder then? What with having the biggest injury list of all the top-4 teams so far this season.
Burn-out fucking happens when you play too much in too short a time which happens to every team & every player. Wenger’s complaining about the fixtures in the past month & while i think he’s got some right to say that, EVERY team has to go through it at some stage. It was just Arsenal’s turn this time round.
Here’s a sweet quote from Wenger though & sort of defines what i think about all this anti-Arsenal crap -
“I don’t know what kind of world we are in at the moment where everyone says at the start of the season we will be lucky to finish in the top 10 and then it’s a crisis when we lose one game.”
I agree with Iqnadirshah in comment 16. So you wanna entertain the fans even though you’re not scoring? Wtf? Try telling that to the Chelski fans for the past 3 yrs whenever they won the Premiership with all these accusations of ‘boring-boring Chelsea’. If we all had a choice, we’d prefer to WIN rather than sacrifice success for ‘creativity’. Its only the really great teams that can get away with doing both, which is what Arsenal & Man Utd have done so well.
I AM mortified by the result against Middlesbrough. The same way Man Utd fans have been about the Bolton game & the same way Liverpool fans have been about the Reading game. But the only thing that will make it better is if we come back fighting against Chelsea. That’s what this game is all about & that’s what the Premiership is all about. With RVP back we have more than a fighting chance now.
I know they have a lot of players i mean they dont have as many players who can play in the league as Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea do.
Its not about numbers count how many of those players play for an international team and compare them with other teams
@Liverpool_Fan
First11:
Rooney/Tevez
Giggs/Scholes/Hargo/Ronaldo
Evra/Rio/Vidic/Neville
VDS
Second11 from:
Saha/?
Nani/Anderson/Carrick/Fletcher/Park/Eagles/
Silvestre/Brown/O’Shea/Pique/Simpson
Except for the striking department, I’m more than happy with the squad depth, thank you.
Forgot about goalkeepers, but all 3 of our keepers are more than capable to demand a starting slot in almost any team.
And, just to put things into perspective, the Heinze that you guys so coveted, would have been part of the ‘2nd team’.
Sorry about the many posts…
Except for Pique, Eagles and Simpson, ALL of them are internationals.
Karl i mean Internationals that a in the regular 11 or even in it atleast 1/3 matches.
…..of an international team
I cannot belive I am reading things such as “Man United lack squad depth”! Its amazing how stupid and idiotic people can be. Yes I am talking about people like Liverpool_fan =) I laugh at ur stupidity! HAHAH LMAO! I think you have mistaken Man United for your deary Liverpool. Do NOT worry as I will correct you right now
I have been watching Liverpool more then ever this season (because I would like to give liverpool fans reailty checks from time to time) and i reckon the reason they won’t match Man United or the other big two and win the league is because, essentially, they have one to many average players in their first team. Every team, even the best, have one or two average players in their first-team, but in my view, Liverpool have one too many. Only Gerrard, Alonso, Carragher, Torres and probably Agger and MAYBE (time will tell) Babel are genuine top drawer. Just don’t think that compares favorably with the other big clubs. Liverpool’s full backs are average (arbeloa is shit and riise cant defend for shit haha), wingers are average (or less then average when we look at Pennant haha), and majority of their strikers are crap (kuyt? Pfft go look at his scoring ratio! Vronin haha wotta a joke). Not too convinced with Reina either (oh yeah vs everton last season!! Very nice, I live
(borat)).
I’m really not the bitter kind, and give our rivals their dues all the time, but even in an 8-0 victory, Liverpool still did not impress me much. I’ve concluded that they struggle to play good football, and can only rely on this ‘Premiership pace charging’ style, that often flusters a lot of European teams, but as for genuine quality, i’m not convinced. I just get the impression that an Arsenal or United team winning 8-0 would not look like that, Liverpool did not really make anyone drool tonight with their football. And for Marseille? Any team can look good vs a comical defence and a reserve keeper! All I can give credit to Liverpool is the fact that they take advantage of their oppositions mistakes!
Liverpool generally lack that championship quality. They have players like Pennant, Benayoun, sissoko (a walking JOKE, he is mre help to the opposition than to Liverpool!) and Kuyt that can never perform on a consistent basis like their top-tier players (i.e. Torres, Gerrard, Agger, Mascherano, Alonso, and Carra). They seem hopeless when they play in the league against any good mid table English team (OH YEAH READING & also a nice mention to Birmingham and Blackburn ;)), and whenever they get a big win it becomes a press wankfest due to the rarety of their wins. Example: Marseille!!
They lack the pace to go at the title for 38 matches, including all the cup matches. Their lack of depth is amazing, because after their first and best XI, they have nothing to back them up apart from youngsters (hobbs is crap, he proved that versus Reading) and inconsistent players (oh yeah sissoko!!). Even their top drawer players are not in the same league as United’s, Chelsea’s (gerrard & torres being the only exception).
People who say Man United do not have squad depth are morons. We have 3 keepers who will walk into most premier league teams and claim for the 1st spot. Van Der Sar is world class and plays for his national team (unlike good old riena lmao) and then theres kuczsack who is very very good and ben foster aswell! Wot abt liverpool’s keeprs? After riena who do u have? ITNAJDE OR WA EVA HAHAH HIS AN EVERTON REJECT ND IS A JOKE!! Lmao
Moving to defence..left backs? We got Silvestre (very experienced) evra (top class performer) and o’shea (oh yeah anfield last season!!) who can play there easily. Compare this to Liverpool who have riise who cannot defend, Arbeloa (makeshift frm right back) and the injury prone aruelio! We look more solid in that department! Right back? Even with Gary Neville out since last season march we have brown who can be very solid there as we have seen and also we have danny simpson the youngster who got an assist vs wigan and played really well vs roma! O’shea can also play there as well as pique and even Hargreaves!! Centre back? We have Rio and Vidic and Pique as our main 3 there. Pique has scored 2 goals in 2 apps for champions league..thts better then some midfield players! O’Shea and Silvestre and Brown can all play here if needed aswell as evans our youngster who played there vs roma so we do have loads of back up in the defence! Liverpool? After hyppia and agger who will step in? hobbs? Haha I think reading game says it all! And after hobbs who will step in? ummm? Yeah looks like we are more covered in the defense than Liverpool who has crys ova agger being injured =( The main key reason why we are better in this department is because we have versatile players like o’shea who can play anywere along the back four when needed and that is after our spesalized position takers are injured.
Midfield. We have the best wingers in the Premier League. Nani, Giggs, Ronaldo, Park Ji Sung can play either wings and also we have Darren flether who can play right mid and evra can play left flank. I think that is better than making gerrard play right wing and make striker babel a winger! And Liverpool_fan says man united dnt have depth? Pfft they are the ones playing players out of position! Gerrard cant cross for shite! Our centre mid is packd. Scholes, Carrick, Hargreaves, Anderson, Fletcher and O’shea can all play there. With only 2 positions available we got 4 quality fighting for those places plus more if needed! To be fair Liverpool also have depth in centre mid and also in the striker department. Those are the only places they got real cover but so do United.
Strikers. We got 3 top quality ones. Rooney, tevez, and saha..so which 2 should start? Then we have people who can play there if they get injured..like giggs did vs Chelsea in the community shield and he scored, then we got Ronaldo who can play der and scholes too! So even if our first choices are out, we still got many player who can fill up there. Isnt that enough squad depth?
Difference between Man United and Liverpool (who have less squad depth than man united) they haven’t won the premiership for 16 years now. They may have a strong squad, but we have a winning squad. I say their squad is all fart no shit. If you look at the last gameweek with Man United travelling to Roma. We sent out max 5 first team squad members in a 28 man squad and we drew while playing their first team regulars like totti, guily, de rossi, doni, cicinhio, mexses, vucinic, pizarro just to name a couple. And even being AWAY we still DREW and took the LEAD! Compare that to when arsenal put their 2nd team vs sevilla and LOST and liverpool when they try to play youngsters like hobbs and lose to reading! Just shows who has more squad depth than who!
oh sorry i had a mistake. i was mean to say: Very nice, I LIKE
(borat)
[…] you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! It’s a Grand Slam Sunday this weekend and everyone is getting quite carried away with it. Articles are being splashed […]
lol did i piss you off!!
I went to sleep just reading it, woke up again, read some, then slept, and now here I am…
he should have just wrote an article

Mancs and the Blues have the best depth in the entire league. Hilarious, that while comment 26 picked Chelsea’s second squad to finish 2nd, man united was way below Liverpool at 11. Sorry, but you take way my top 11 Blues and the top 11 Mancs, those squads still kick the ass out of 18 other clubs.
Who the fuck does Liverpool have on their second squad anyway? Does rotation even permit a second squad? Babel,I can think of, and that is it.
Yeah sorry about the long comment people but I guess I just got carried away! Well i did read some where on the website that it is for serious fans meaning they will defend their club no matter what so yeah lol! Dw Liverpool_fan im not pissed hehe everyone has opinions and you were just expressing yours and I just thought you were in some areas wrong so I just corrected you lol
I agree with Brian #53. United and Chelski have the best squad depth amongst the Premier League because Arsenal’s squad depth is laughable hahahhahahahahahahahahaha lmao lol rofl.
Strongest Squad
Reina
Finnan Carragher Agger Riise
Pennant Gerrard Mascherano Kewell
Torres Crouch
Second String
Carson
Arbeloa Hypia Hobbs Aurelio
Benyoun Lucas Alonso Babel
Kuyt Voronin
(duh)!!!
[…] might still be some days ahead but with Arsenal and Chelsea both having qualified for the UEFA Champions League knockout stages, […]
Carson = England vs Croatia says enuf
Arbeloa = lmao
Hyppia = Own Goal Machine!
Hobbs = so far wen ever he plays liverpool lose like vs chelsea and reading.. Pique > Hobbs. Pique has 2 goals in 2 champions league apps. Enuf said.
Aurelio = Injury prone. You buys gota buy another back up. Maybe that is why you guys wanted hinze
Benayoun = lmao inconsistant peice of joke. No were near United’s back up Park
Lucas = looks promising but i wud say Anderson wud own his ass like he ownd gerrards
Alonso = Class act
Babel = loads of potential to be a class act
Kuyt = LMAO LMAO LMAO LMAO ROFL ROFL ROFLMAO!!
Voronin = at best average.
Liverpool’s 2nd string looks realli crap to me besides Alonso & Babel and maybe in the future Lucas. No wonder Rafa wants to shop in January! If they want to compete for the goods they gota get players who can step in and do the job well.
Oh and Khan. Amazing post you gun! Keep it up. You so should write articles! Much better than some shit i read on here! You talk more sense than any writer here actually! Yes even Ahmed Bilal! lol
Why thank you bro
