He's holding Anderson back at this stage and, legend as he is, for every decent game he has he has 1 average one and 2 poor. He was awful against Fulham (and Liverpool and Sunderland) and his tacking is a liability. I also believe that having so many midfield options is leading to endless rotation and no continuity. Utd NEED to get a consistent middle 4 instead of a rotating 9 or 10. That will bring greater understanding, continuity, consistency and flair and we may get back to being a team instead of a squad.
